yeah but both of those guys shot/killed someone. Not the case with Kirkland, he just had possession of a firearm while on probation.

Not saying he wont receive a stiff penalty, but not comparable to x-raided/cmurder.

Actually Travis County is quite *******. And that's where he got arrested.

Oddly enough, one of Anne Wolfe's amateur boxers recently killed a guy over a traffic accident. He threw the first, and only punch. And he only got probation.

Kirkland is a convicted felon though. So he is likely in serious trouble. I heard that Golden Boy made an offer to the judge to bond out Kirkland for the fight and pay for a law enforcement officer to escort him the entire time and bring him back to jail after the fight. The judge said no to that.

Your right Travis County is *******. Good thing he didn't get arrested in the county above (Williamson) he'd never get out.

A couple of weeks ago I went to a homie's house in Del Valle to watch some fights on HBO (Cintron vs Angulo)..

THis guy that goes and watches the fights with us works with GBP. I asked him if he had heard anything about Kirkland case and what not, and he told me that he's looking at least one year behind bars.. I asked him if Oscar could get him out and he told me that they have given him money already.. He supposably got 35-40k signing bonus and that he already had a charge for possessing another gun b4 his latest.

He siad that they are hoping that the judge will consider the time he has already spent behind bars to be counted against time he will receive (new sentence).

But all are hoping for just a year so he can come back by next April and get 3 tune ups before challenging for a belt again.

I'm still hoping that a judge will give him another shot and release him b4 the year is out. I just beat my DWI case today in court so I'm hoping he can do the same with his gun charge

Isnt being caught with a firearm while being a convicted felon a federal charge? So how does the county have anything to do with it?
