    Cotto v. Pacquiao

    Just some random thoughts...

    1) How can people say that Pacquiao would be dodging Mayweather by taking on the best/second best welterweight in the world, when last year at this time he had never fought above 130 pounds. Really? C'mon... Taking on the guy who beat Shane Mosley? Really?

    2) This fight would be freaking awesome. Two guys who like to punch beating the hell out of each other for forty minutes. What is there not to like?

    3) Everyone wants to know what would happen in a Pac/PBF fight, but I doubt it will be entertaining. Mayweather will crawl into his shell. Pacquiao will chase... and that will be that. What's gone missing in this whole "David Diaz looked better than ODH and Hatton" is that in the Diaz fight Pac was coming foward. In Hatton and ODH, Pac was preyed, allowing him to throw at the guy coming in. Pac will be the agressor in a Mayweather fight and will not be able to land the shots we saw in Pac's last two fights.

I don't want to incite Mayweather Mafia but.. The idea that Pacquiao is dodging Mayweather is preposterous.

Yeah it's not a question of "ducking" or cowardice; it's just politics maybe ruining a potentially huge and mouth watering event

Pacman/Cotto would certainly be entertaining and I won't complain if this comes off but I will rue the fact that such a historically significant fight in Floyd/Pacman was ruined due to greediness and stubbornness (on both sides)

cotto/pac is a damn good fight and alot more exciting that pac/floyd, but pac/floyd makes a lot more money than cotto/pac

This discussion should be postponed until after the Clottey fight.

yep. not only that, but i consider it ducking, first of all, as you said, it's a huge event, and floyd is better than cotto.

but what is really weird, and why i would consider it a "duck" is the comments coming from team pacquiao.

"cotto is an easier fight, he comes straight forward, like hatton..."

"floyd is good defensively, and he runs, so a KO would be out of the question..."

"due to floyd's style, he's a hard fighter to beat, we may win on points, but we won't look good, doing it."

            and the funniest ****....

"why risk the upcoming elections for manny by fighting floyd? take the cotto fight, then fight floyd next year, after the elections...."

idk, gentlemen, but comments like those are suspect to me.
