He lost a fight against a better opponent. Was it embarrassing? Yes. But don't cry about it and tell the public. He is not going to get flowers sent his way for crying. He is a Fighter, not a figure-skater.

Crying can be a natural reaction from such embarrassment and shock but why tell the public? Keep that to yourself.
I understand your logic and I agree with it. I do not, however, agree that the fact he openly said he was crying is anything to look down upon. If he want's to let his fans know how upset he was then more power to him.

He can cry, he can keep stone faced, he can drink himself to death straight Gatti style. Doesn't make him any less of a man, or a fighter to me.

He is not crying over the fight and losing, I believe its more in the matter of how he loss. Yes that part does take a toll on you and Fu c k up your head mentally. It will take sometime to get over but Money surely doesn't replace Pride. Keep your head up Ricky, and take all the time u need, but slowly but surely it will all pass and takes a man to cry and tell about it!!!!

Tone it down. That's what I'm saying.

Say: "I've been saddened by the loss and my heart still aches with sorrow for my fans that I have let down. I have yet to smile since that day"

That's all I need to hear.

And I was kidding about the drinking. That was as shot at Hatton if you didn't see it (for his drinking behavior). I'm not much to drink let alone drink my sorrow away.

'Atton mate, you're a warrior so be a man and accept that this is part of being a real fighter. You would never quit unlike some other guys.

I just disrupted the silence in the office by laughing rather heartily at the thought of those words coming out of Hatton's mouth.

I don't disagree with your stance, I honestly don't. I'm just saying there's two topics with multiple pages on these forums about Hatton crying when the fact that he cried means nothing at all to his career, his talent, the fights we've seen, the fight we saw, or the fights we've yet to see.

Shows that he's human and he genuinely cares about winning. What's wrong with that? Much better than someone getting KTFO, and saying "who cares I'm rich *****!" lol.

Seriously, to anyone who loves the sport and cares about their own legacy and not just a paycheck, it's going to hurt getting KO'd like that.

You should all respect Ricky for being so emotionally attached to the sport.

Oh and BTW, has anyone here been KO'd in front of millions of people and had your entire country support you only for you to lose in embarrassing fashion? If not, you have absolutely no idea what he's going through.

I agree with this. All the NSB badasses just want to talk nonsense. Hatton is human.
