fact is, MAY SR is the trainer not the fighter.

you saw on 24.7 all the things MAyweatheradded to hattons arsenal. Blocking punches, moving his head, double jab, no jumping in with his hook, etc.

soon as that bell rang, i didnt see any of the things Ricky did in training, in the ring.

its hattons job to retain the **** he learned. hes the Sponge, floyd Sr was the teacher.

we saw him teach. hatton did none of the things he learned

i can careless how much some of you hate May Sr's prick a*s. but the fact is, Hatton didnt do his job as a fighter and thats why he lost. its ahttons fault.

what did yall hear May Sr say to hattton when he went back to his corner?

people on this site make up so many lame excuses

MAY SR. couldn't train odlj to a REAL win against STRUM. What makes anyone think he'd train Hatton to beat PAC-MAN??? The man is a FRAUD. A legend in his own mind!! His own son doesn't even use him!!!!

Precisely what I had suspected all along.

Ricky abandoned his plan of attack the minute the bell rang.

He resorted to his straight up, come forward, hit me and I'll hold and hit you back, style of fighting. Eating Filipino leather sandwiches for a round and a half.

No one should be surprised at all. It was evident.

At the end of the day the person you have to blame is Pacquiao, give him his just due credit. Floyd Sr. can point the finger at whomever, but it falls on himself and his fighter. Ricky did not do the proper things for this fight and because of that he made an exit from the stage in the opening act. You can't teach a brawler to box to the standards of a Mayweather. Obvoiusly Ricky did not even incorporate it. So, he tried but got bested by a better fighter, and trainer. Floyd can look at himself and blame everyone else all he wants to. Yet, still the fact remains........ Pacquiao KO2 Hatton

                Mayweather slams Hatton and Beard
                Eurosport - Tue, 12 May 17:04:00 2009

Floyd Mayweather Sr has launched a verbal attack on Ricky Hatton and assistant trainer Lee Beard after the Manchester fighter's second-round knockout by Manny Pacquiao.

Trainer Mayweather was furious with Hatton after the devastating defeat to the Filipino in Las Vegas at the beginning of the month.

The pair have not spoken since, with Mayweather claiming he will never work with the Englishman again even if he does not retire.

The American said there were problems in the camp in the build-up to the fight, with the relationship between boxer and coach breaking down while Beard took separate training sessions.

"You've got to listen to your corner, simple as that," Mayweather was quoted as saying in the Manchester Evening News. "And, as I said once before, there was turmoil in the camp.

"It showed up in the fight. Not because of me. It showed up in the fight because he had another person training him when I wasn't around and sometimes when I was around. He (Beard) guided Ricky in the wrong way."

Hatton, meanwhile, is yet to make a decision on his future and his father Ray confirmed that he would not be rushed.

"He's taking his time," Ray Hatton told the newspaper.

"He is single-minded, stubborn if you like, and once he makes up his mind that will be it. We will respect that decision and knowing him it will be final and certainly he won't be a Frank Sinatra, forever making comebacks.

"The defeat is still very painful for him even now. He knows he was reckless and his game plan went out of the window. Some genuine experts and people who know him best reckon he won't want to be remembered flat on his back.

"Everyone seems to forget he has been beaten twice in his career and those two who beat him were not muppets - Floyd Mayweather Jnr was probably the best fighter in the decade and Manny Pacquiao the top pound-for-pound fighter.

"What is going to happen now is Ricky is going to go away to Tenerife with his girlfriend and family and we will think about what to do. This is one big decision for a 30-year-old. It's not like old Father Time is catching up on him. It's the biggest decision of his career, even of his life, and he's got to get it right.

"He will need to be honest with himself but with him you never really know what to expect. I expect he will make his mind up towards the end of the month."

What was the point of paying Mayweather to train? Especially if he was intstructed by someone else.

It's one thing to practice an agreed upon game plan. But they probably were doing some other ish without Mayweather.
