HBO will air a Countdown to Klitschko-Haye..

Correct?? If Mayweather and Marquez are getting a 24/7 (which will be a snoozer), the biggest heavys fight in years at least deserves a countdown right?

Ya,I was hoping they'd do a countdown but it ain't gonna happen. Part of the reason to is it will be in the afternoon here in the states so HBO didn't pony up the extra cash to make it primetime here so they defn won't do a countdown!

I've not heard about it officially, but I'm sure they will. As much as they put Wlad over on HBO, given Steward's role wit him, all the talk they've done about the HW's, no way there shouldn't be a countdown show.

I'd tune into anything where I could watch Haye and Wlad on for a half an hour.

          :wank:

A countdown would add flavor to the upcoming fight.

It'd be very interesting. This is a fight where two things matter most.

One is that you'd like to see how Haye looks, in terms of his physique and in terms of his conditioning, overall. Also, his eyes. Is it starting to set in that it's happening and is it a good or bad thing.

The other thing to pay attention to is Klitschko's mindstate. Do you feel he's worried? Does he look less or more focused than usual and is either a good or bad thing?

Another thing that would benefit HBO in the long run is how well this fight does. If the numbers are good in terms of the ratings, it determines how much interest Heavyweight boxing can generate. If Klitschko wins, he steps up a bit in the peoples eyes. He'd beat the guy that was his biggest challenge, in terms of how the fans would look at it. Whether that's accurate or not. If Haye wins, he could be one popular mutha****er.

I hope they do but remember this is the same network that just GROSSLY overpaid for Dawson-Tarver 2 and passed on Forch-Taylor and Johnson-Adamek so don't count on it!

I normally wouldnt even ask this, but HBO has done some dumb siht lately, namely choosing Marquez and Mayweather for a 24/7 series over this. that series isnt going to add any more viewers then the fight would already get, where as with Klitschko and Haye, it would definitely interes tsome casual fans who arent familiar with the soap opera that has gone on between these two forever now. id much rather watch Haye then Mayweather, especially since we've all seen Mayweather shtick 8 episodes in total now in previous years.

you arent planning to go into business any time soon are you?

why would hbo waste their money on a 24/7 series with 2 virtually unknown fighters from europe amongst the casual fans that are fighting in germany. hbo is an american broadcasting company that targets american audiences. the american audience will have to watch this in the morning if they want to catch it live. why would they make 24/7s($$$) to help sell their free world championship boxing events. no body pays attention to the heavy weight division right now, for a reason.

with mayweather-marquez, you have the number one american fighter facing the number one mexican fighte at the MGM in las vegas as floyds return after nearly 2 yearsr. top americans and top mexicans always sell, they are the largest contributors to boxing. the names mayweather and marquez>>>wladimir and haye by a couple hundred miles. pretty much why they are having a 24/7.
