Funny thing too is that a lot of these people are the first to start saying so and so ain't a "real boxing fan." Diggy doc if you haven't seen more than 3 or 4 Mayweather fights then you haven't been watching boxing long enough to tell me or anyone else what a "real boxing fan" is. I've been watching boxing since the '88 Olympics. My uncle has fights taped all the way back through the '70s. I've seen almost all of them. But some little punks who just started watching boxing two years ago come on these boards talking about I'm not a real fan because I actually watch "boring" fighters like Floyd Mayweather, Cory Spinks, Bernard Hopkins, Winky Wright, etc. LMFAO

floyd hasn't really ever been in a give-in-take type war, but that's not really his fault.

I have seen every one of Mayweather's fights and most several times. I own his box career set and he is one of my favourite fighters to watch.

I hate on him because of his attitude. I have seen all of them except like 4 but I have those as well, just have not gotten around to watching them. He fights very well on the inside because of his reflexes and speed, more so recently, it's been because of the adopted defensive Philly shell thing he does. He rolls so you can't ever hot cleanly and he elbows you up on the inside so fast you can't really tell it is not a punch or something.

I'd have to say he is one of the best defensive fighters in the past 20 years. Even though he is a punk ass on TV, I can't deny his abilities.

well, you should know i have watched him since his amateurs days, and have seen every pro fight he's been in from apadaca to hatton to big show.lol. anyway, i guarantee you that majority of his haters have not seen him fight also. so i do agree with you to th efullest...i mean, ****, the man at 130 could have possibly been the greatest fighter ever at that weight, skillweise, he was, no competiton...i love arguello to death, floyd is the most skilled fighter i have ever seen, let alone at 130...i think people's perception of him is very swayed...

calling him a runner is typical of a poster on here who hates his guts...many people probably started watching him in 2005 for the gatti fight..it being on ppv and him making so much noise about, got people's attention i'm sure and after they watched that fight, they probably started making some noise about floyd, but then as he got bigger, and not even in his following fight with mitchell, i mean his fight with zab, they started seeing press conferences more on boxingscene, when vidoes started becoming regular on this site and they seem to have a distaste for him, reading and watching critics say things about him, and i think many posters on here joined the army to hate floyd and haven't looked back..it's easy to hate floyd on here, that i learned back in 06 when i joined this forum, and it's easy for people on here to contradict their arguments about him, that i learn before i joined this forum, just reading posts about him on here.

i have to say though, it's gotten so much worse, and the reason i think it has is because a lot of people were gatti fans, because of his blood and guts and what floyd did to him, i truly believe angered many people on here, who gave gatti a shot at beating floyd. now, many on here now would say gatti was a shot fighter who never had a chance. they'll say he was a bum now, when i said he was a bum then, and even when floyd fought baldomir, many, and i mean many posters on here thought baldomire had a legitamate shot at beating floyd when the obvious was right in out faces...that's what they are doing with pacman, and in the process slandering floyd's fighting style that has kept him undefeated...saying he runs in his fights, and pacman fights...i laugh at them so much...

it seems to me that many posters on here love brawlers and not boxing purists like floyd is because brawlers lose to those guys who understand the artform of "true boxing". hit and don't get hit...floyd has pretty much had the same fighting style since he was younger, but has polsihed it up as a pro and as he moved up in weight, his versatility came unfold...he started throwing less combs and potshotting more, yet stayed dominant against fighters who threw more...yet people claimed he hit and ran, when in reality he used more of his opponent's energy against them...yet people who don't understand boxing, calls that fighting like a coward because they know, just like pernell whitaker, that it is extremely difficult to beat someone like floyd mayweather jr, because of his skillset, physical attributes, stamina, and his blazing sharp mindsets...and for his fans, they call us nuthuggers for defending him...

take it from me though, none of that **** matters to me when i know a truly special fighter is right in front of my face, floyd mayweather jr is the most skilled fighter i have ever seen, and i've seen them all...i have tapes of all the all time greats, all of them and this kid is the truth in that ring...

fights like him vs justin jukko, n'dou, tony pep, hernandez, gatti(he damn sure didn't so call "run" in that one), judah, hatton, de la hoya, coralles, chavez, corley, gerena, and more of course...it cracks me up with all of his hatred from posters on here...but none that hateful **** matters from a fan when boxing critics who slander him are still calling him the greatest fighter of his era...jmm and pacman will find out very soon. stay tuned...he will crush them...

i'm glad you put that in with smitty, because i have out this in my posts countless amounts of times, and i'll say it again...no fighter who has come along in the past 20 or 30 years has thrown a countershot off of the block better than floyd mayweather has done, not 1 fighter currently or in the last era and era before that..watch the gerena, jukko, sosa, and n'dou fights...floyd counters off of the block so fluently and smooth, and is very effective with it...that it something else to add ot his mystique in that ring...he can counter off of the block and score knockdowns with it, coz his opponent's don't see the punch coming because of how good he positions his body and th epunch..he knows how to hide his right hand so well to where hsi opponents don't see the counterpunch coming, which is something i fell he will do with pac and marqueaz and knock thme down or out in the process...you got to trust me on this one...

he counters off of the block usually in the pocket or whenhe's on the ropes like he did with n'dou and gerena..it is a rare occurence in boxing, and floyd has it mastered...he is so crafty. he has an array of skillsets that people have yet to pick up on...i have picked up on everything he does in that ring from countering off of the block, to thrownign slapping punches like he did in the gatti and corley fights that were very effective, slapping hooks and uppercuts, of course his jab to the pit of the stomach..his ability to offset his opponents by turning his body in the pocket when sliiping punches, something also rare, if ever shown by other fighters...the shoulder roll is nothing new, but he has his own style with it..i mean ****, he made sosa fall with it...just blocking and turning his body, sosa fell...floyd also counters to the body very well, like he did with judah...i mean, this guy has the whole package, and for a guy with brittle hands, it's something pretty cool to see, because many of those punches are hand breakers, and he as broken his hands many times, but again, if he was heavy handed, his ko ration would be so much higher...the kid has too many skills...many people have to pick up on them to really appreciate him, but me being a former fighter who fought technically similar to him, i have had this knowledge for many years...my dad and my uncle used to implore the shoulder roll and counter off of the block on me soooo much, i could do the **** in my sleep. and i was a southpaw, so it killed my opponents.lol. anyway, enough about me, i do appreciate this man's skillset...it's been obvious from the jump, he is the most skilled fighter in boxing, period.
