Did the Mexican Era end with Barrera or Margarito?

I will say this : the bar has been set pretty damn high for the next generation of Mexican boxers.
We're at the end of the Morales/Barrera/Marquez era.
All 3 of those guys are amazingly gifted fighters with some serious record of competition, and they set the bar pretty damn high.
At the height of Barrera and Morales' popularity, people were wondering who the next Julio Cesar Chavez was going to be.
They didn't exactly get Chavez, but instead, they got 2 very different, very unique fighters capable of carrying that banner themselves.
At the height of the next generation's era, people will be wondering who the next Morales or Barrera is.
Probably Marquez too, because he still has 2 good fights left in him. And definitely Marquez if he somehow manages to beat Floyd.Comment

The great Mexican fighters of this era are generally on the way out I think it's safe to say right? Morales, Barrera, Marquez(acouple fights left) and now Margarito sort of screwed himself with the plaster. Is it safe to say, Mexican boxing is leveled out right now until a new star comes along? Maybe Alfredo Angulo, or I hate to say his name, JCC Jr., Victor Ortiz? But when will we see Mexican fighters that had that fire and fury that Morales and Barrea brought?Comment
