De La Joto and Flattened both at opposite ends of the spectrum re: weight drain

Fellas, fellas, I for one am sick of the weight drain excuses especially when it's held against my boy. The only one fighter w/o a shadow of a doubt that he was weight drained, was Erika in his 3rd and final bout against PAC.

The De La Joto fans use the fact that Oscar only gained two measly lbs the day of the fight, having only gained two lbs was suppose to be a telling sign that De La Joto was "in-fact" weight-drained.

Now, enter Flattened. He weighed in at exactly at 140lbs during the weigh-in and on the day of the fight he rehydrated himself to gain 12lbs so on fight night he was 152 lbs. This is generally considered a good way of losing and adding the proper lbs. But, his fans and PAC's detractors are saying that Flattened was weight-drained as well.

So, lets review this and lets get it straight....

De La Joto on weigh in 145lbs on fight night 147 lbs

Flattened on weigh in 140lbs on fight night 152lbs

Honestly, during the weigh-in, I thought Flattened looked more weight drained than De La Joto for his weigh in, you tell me.

Personally, I think Flattened was really the weight-drained one and De La Joto was simply old.

Hatton wasnt weigh drained by he need to re-hydrate quickly after he weigh in, Hatton is use to doing that at 140 but you cant be doing that all the time for 10 years especially when you're getting older.

Oscar was definitely weigh drain, But that isnt paq's fault....I say roach was a genius, They made oscar come to 147 and oscar took the bait, at 154 oscar would have been abit better, would still have lost imo due to the speed of paq.

Nah, Flattened was weight drained bro. I talked to some small time fighters at the fight and they all said they saw a PAC win under 6 rounds.

Not that they didn't think PAC couldn't pull it off w/ a "healthy Ricky" but Vicky being weight-drained helped.

To start with, i think De La Hoya is a natural welterweight.. he said that himself and his brother in the HBO 24/7 series. I think Oscar did pretty well in the first two rounds, but once he realized that Manny was too fast to hit, somewhere in the middle of the fight, something in him said that "I should just throw this fight and make it look like im shot and drained so i can have an excuse." I think mentally he was just too weak.. i still remember his Dad telling him in one of the Episodes that he didnt have heart.. True that he was already going down the hill but i dont think he was as shot as people think he was. That's just my 2 cents on the matter.

Technically speaking, Hatton could use the "weight drained" excuse for pretty much every fight he's lost (Floyd, and Manny), or every fight he's looked ****ty in (Lazcano, and Collazo) as well.

Because the dude is an idiotic moron who walks around at about 180 because he can't lay off the beer and junk food.

But that exuse doesn't work for Ricky, IMO. Pacquiao beat the piss out of him because he was the better fighter. Period. Hatton's fans are morons anyway, so I wouldn't pay much attention to them if I were you. They blamed Billy Graham and Joe Cortez when Floyd knocked him the hell out. And I've seen them blame Senior for the loss to Pacquiao, already.

Oscar, on the other hand, was severely weight drained against Pacquiao. Hell, even Freddie Roach admitted to seeing IV marks on Oscar's arm on the first episode of "Pacquiao/Hatton 24/7".

Morales was also severely drained for their third fight, I'm glad to see somebody else recognize that.

So you're saying that Vicky comes in weight-drained pretty much all the time because of his non-commitment to staying in shape at all times, correct.

Then if that is the case, and the gauge that we use to determine a fighter if he is weight drained or not is by how much weight he gains on the day of the fight, then Flattened wasn't weight drained because he gained just a lil more than PAC. But you're saying he was weight-drained.

So exactly what is weight drained? that you don't gain that much lbs in-between weigh-ins, or is weight-drain gaining 10-12lbs on the day of the fight ala Flatton.

All I'm sayin' is, there's no exact science to tell if a fighter is actually weight-drained, to this day, I think Flatton was in worse shape than De La Joto when they fought PAC. De La Joto's major problem wasn't coming down to 147lbs. Father time was the major culprit!

Severly drained is a whole new animal though, see Erika in his 3rd fight against PAC, but the motherf**ker still threw down unlike that b*tch @ss qu**er, who some consider a f**kin legend, gimme a break.

Oscar came in as a Junior WW b/c he thought he could match Pac's speed. Big mistake, especially at his age...

Pac gets mass cred for both those wins. No doubt DLH was weak, but he was still supposed to kill lil Pac. Hatton was fine, he just lost. None of this **** about his weight til after the KO.

I was just saying that form a technical standpoint ; Ricky (and his fans) have a ready made excuse for everytime he performs badly, or gets KTFO'd.

The truth of the matter, is that he wasn't weight drained against Pacquiao, or any of those other guys. He's just very limited fighter who can't compete with the top dogs.

"Father time" may have also played a role in Oscar's loss, but you can't deny he was drained. Freddie Roach even admitted it.

But even if Oscar wasn't drained/old, I'm sure Pacquiao still would've won. Oscar has alwys found a way to drop the ball in his biggest fights, and I'm sure even if he was in top condition, he would've found a way to do it against Manny as well.

And you're right about Morales. That's why most of us love Erik. Even in arguably the worst fighting shape of his life, he still came to fight. He knew Pacquiao was going to take him, but he went for it anyway.
