I mean, Nike just doesn't hire an athlete because they're popular. Image is everything and PAC is a corporation's dream!!

You guys are going to make me e-rich and the odds should be close so I should get a good chunk of change in real green. Gotta love a win win.

People have to wait and see how he is against JMM and even then, JMM doesn't have the high-pressure intensity Pac brings nor the youth. JMM is a very good fighter, a fighter that can adjust, won't go away even if you put him on his ass, is technically sound, and might win, but he is a different fighter than Pac.
When was the last time Floyd faced such troubles? And don't tell me Hatton because he just came in charging to hug. If he came in trying to blast Floyd out with punches then I would agree but he didn't.
Oscar put pressure on him, no question, and he was big, but Oscar's speed has declined and he slowly breaks down by himself in fights. A good thing to look at, but not quite the same. Floyd will at least know how to deal with strength with Pac just fine.
Teddy Atlas mentioned on Friday Night Fights this past Friday everything I brought on these boards prior to him saying it...which either has me sitting in the corner because I'm in Teddy Atlas company for this way of thinking...or should be listened to as it is a "possibility" based on past events. I do think that is what Teddy looks at as well even though he doesn't necessarily mean this is fact what is going to happen......it's just a possibility; another side to it that we have to look out for. He'll just say it, like me, since most aren't pointing out this possibility (which has happened before and resulted in failure for the fighter).
However, I've also mentioned this before: In a way, I'm glad he came back and might be even more declined. Why? Because of what he said about Ali and past Greats and diminishing their legacies because they lost even though most of them lost because they were declined and circumstances do matter. I want Pac to push him to test him and never let up. He'll then see what Ali and the rest were going through when they didn't have their phenom ability anymore and they had to rely on what they were at that point. That's when the Intelligence and adaption of the fighter is tested. And how much "heart/will" does he have left in the game.
Say what you will about Jones Jr, but he destroyed his body coming down in weight to 175 against Tarver in that first fight and he was dying in that ring and he gutted it out for a victory. He had his last stand and he won.
Because if he doesn't want it and folds because he realizes he isn't the same fighter...often those fighters get broken down and quit. Let's see what happens. It's time to back up his claim that he is Greater than them (or I would argue even allowed in the same room).
That's always bothered me Floyd. I understand that in a way, he is right because he was smart to get out before he declined to much and always showed up prepared, like Marciano did...however, he's back and is falling into that same trap the rest of the boxers have fell into which causes them to lose. So let's see if all those years of hard work and discipline has been so ingrained in his heart that he will pull through the test given to him now. Oh, and if he does come back and has enough left to beat JMM and Pac....he still needs to fight Cotto (if he beats Clottey) and Shane before he heads out or at least one of those two.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 05-10-2009, 10:01 PM.

Pac will be a live dog in this one. He throws a lot, he throws hard, and he throws fast. Yes Floyd is the best defensively we've seen in a long time, but it's no easy task defending/countering hands that you can hardly see coming. It will be a close fight either way.
