The James Kirkland Story is not only sad, but pathetic. I hate when atheltes with potential screw up their future for social problems they could had evaded from the start. Gun possesion while already having history was simply irresponsible and ******. Right now, he is out of the equation; and boxing fans were robbed of fantastic future fights. It's a shame.
Bad seeds are in every major sport. I don't know what gets into these athletes to act so ******ly and hurt no only others, but themselves. Recently, we had PacMan Jones with the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry Jones assigned and paid for a bodyguard to keep an eye on Jones. I thought it was a great move to protect your investment. PAC instead of being grateful of the second chance he was given, he goes and has a public fight with his bodyguard... TOTALLY ABSURD.
It's hard to keep yourself out of trouble when you have no job, no education, and need to money for whatever the case. Necessity can bring the worst of anybody, specially those responsible in feeding other mouths in the family. I remember during the riots after the beating of Rodney King. I saw women with their children coming out of the stores with "pampers". But Kirkland must had had some money already. Why could he not stay away from trouble??? The story has not been bigger cause he is not name Tyson, OJ Simpson, etc.. Cotto is another dumbazz who should behave better when he is not training. Migulito loves to go out, get drunk and hit on women who got "boyfriends". That I know of, twice he had been on a late night public "scene" in Caguas. Cotto lacks the discipline a famous athlete should have.
How about those athletes that can't stay away from women? Those are the worst kind. Tyson got screwed up by a woman that voluntarly went to his room. Shi-t, if a woman comes to my hotel room is not because we will be reading the newspaper. I bet Kobe Bryant can pick any girl and take her to bed, but then again, when you are famous and ****** rich, you should think about it twice. It only takes one woman to yell "****" and you are screwed for life. Kobe was lucky and did not go to jail.
I don't want to make this thread longer that already is. I don't feel sympathy for Kirkland, nor any other ****** MoFo that act so "unwise" and risks a prosperous career when he is already one step away from jail and a couple steps from stardom. So, what are your thoughts? Any other boxing ****ups worth posting their story?
