that's a small welterweight in modern standards.

remember when castillo use to come in at 135 at 5'7 155 lbs.?

a big welterweight woud be about 6 ft. and 160-170 lbs.
When did Castillo ever come in at 155 for a LW fight? Link it please.

By your logic... suppose Cotto is a small welter coming in at 160, then Mayweather is not even a welter since he comes in at 150lbs. right? who should be fighting Pac then?

I want to see two true warriors go toe to toe and Pac/Cotto would make a great fight! Both the Phillipino and Puerto Rican fans are the great and would create a huge build-up. Cotto is 5'7" on a good day, Pac 5'6-1/2". Pac now Holds the belt at 140lbs and Cotto has been there done that. It's time to see if Pac can go up to 147lbs and earn a belt there. I respect both fighters and who ever comes out on top then can go whoop Floyd Jr.'s @ss!
i rather see floyd vs manny... i like the zero to disapear!!

Wether it's his fault or not, it's not his prime anymore. That's gone.

Like '55 Robinson was not the '52 Robinson. Leonard deteriorated big time after all those retirements. Ali was not the same fighter in 1970 as he was i 1967.

The worse part is not even the last two years, that Mayweater physical peak (when he filled 135-140) was wasted against fighters who did not have a chance (anything between Castillo and Judah).

pac has fought once before at 147. marquez alse has never fought at 147.

pacquiao has some advantages over cotto such as speed , handspeed , agility , etc.

marquez has no advantage i can think of over floyd.
That's why this is sadly a tune up.

Marquez gets his highest payday and retires. Mayweather gets some of the best rounds he could get. DEAL. Marquez's only advantage is Mayweather's layoff.

Pac's fight at 147 is irrelevant, you have a point on the one at 140. Now if Cotto and Mayweather were of similar size I would see your point. However they are not the same size.

We also saw his punch output diminish a lot with the years. His hands are ****ed up. If his hands hold up, he will not be prime, but he will still be a helluva fighter even after slowing down, he has all the skills he needs, he is great shape. So he can just sit down more on his punches and probably have to punch more (and give us more entertainig fights in the process). This is IF his hands can endure a more aggressive style. IF NOT tough ****.

In any case, I imagine the post layoff Mayweather will be focusing even more than before on bodywork.

Finally to address the original question. Everyone in the right mind wants to see Pacquiao-Mayweather. Ideally at 140, if that does not inply severe dehydration for Mayweather.

i don't have a link. going off of memory.

i remember it was on hbo and castillo was fighting another guy. both of them was 155 or so in the unofficial weigh in. jim lampley then commented during the fight , "Look at the size of these lightweights." and then larry remarked , "Yeah. They use to call them middleweights."

i consider floyd a big lightweight or good size super lightweight.

i like to see either cotto-pac or floyd-pac. jmm-floyd does nothing for me.
