Pacquiao too small for me, says 'P4P king' Lil Floyd

MANILA, Philippines – Their showdown has not yet been set but comebacking Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his outspoken father, Floyd Sr. are already at it thrashing Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao.

In an interview with Fight Hype, father and son dismissed Pacquiao as “too small" for Lil Floyd, who is set to make his return from retirement on July 18 against another “small man" in Juan Manuel Marquez.

“To be honest with you, man, I think Lil Floyd would toy with Pacquiao and Marquez," the elder Mayweather said.

To which Lil Floyd, who was with his old man when contacted by the Fight Hype’s Percy Crawford, readily agreed: “They are both too small for me, I’ll beat both of them."

The poem-waxing Mayweather Sr. insisted that Pacquiao is “far from unbeatable" despite cutting his ward Ricky Hatton to pieces last week in Las Vegas.

“I’m telling you, Lil Floyd would toy with him (Pacquiao). Hatton just wouldn’t take my instruction," he said.

The celebrated trainer argued that an “over-the-hill" Erik Morales outboxed Pacquiao during their first fight so there’s no doubt Floyd Jr. would easily outbox the fighter from Sarangani Province.

And Lil Floyd would be all to willing to prove Pacquiao fanatics, who go gaga over the Pacman’s supposed power and superiority over him, wrong.

“It’s like when everybody was saying Diego Corrales was going to do this and do that to me and looked what happened," he said, referring to their 2001 fight for the WBC super-featherweight title which ended in his 10th round TKO win. “I’m tired of having to prove myself."

Mayweather Jr., who retired after knocking out Hatton in 2007, is climbing back to the ring against Marquez in a card dubbed Number One/ Numero Uno, claiming he still is the world’s pound-for-pound king.

Fight fans are waiting with anticipation for a possible P4P face off between Pacquiao, the reigning holder of the mythical throne and Mayweather, Jr, his predecessor. –GMANews.TV

We are all tired of this stuff.Everyone knows Floyd is the best and it's such an insult to hear people comparing him to a one dimensional fighter like Pacquiao.

Mr boat buyer gets nothin from me for fightin these guys above 140. JMM is a done deal. We'll see if the Pac fight happens, and if so at what weight. JWW is credible and a big win for Mr boat buyer. Past that, **** it.

is 2 or 3 pounds really that big a deal though? Pacman is lineal champion at 140lbs now after all...

Pac's frame looks most natural at lightweight to me, and he's more than good enough that he can perform to a very, very high standard 1 and a quarter divisions above his optimal weight class

This is what I'm talkin bout homey. I'd still rather see Mr boat buyer fight the top WW, but if a Pac fight happens at 140 it's credible and for Pac's world title. If it's gonna go down, do it at JWW.

he's joking because everyone expects him to fight people 30 lbs bigger so he goes "he's too small for me!" in a sarcastic way.

i agree it'd be best there, assuming Floyd can make the weight without too much hassle

but it's kind of harsh to go from legitimate fight to pointless fight within 3 measly pounds
