Quintana Prepared To Make a Point in Perez Bout

Former welterweight champion Carlos Quintana (26-2, 20KOs) is prepared to make a strong point on June 5 when he takes on veteran Danny Perez (34-5, 17KOs) in Chicago. The fight will be televised on ESPN's Friday Night Fights and Quintana's second at junior middleweight. He hopes to get a good enough ranking to land a title shot before the end of the year. A lot of fights came his way in the last few months but none of them came about. [details]

I like Quintana alot. Tough guy who fights anyone. I really hope he can win this fight and aim for the title shot in the long run.

I agree with you. Quintana is very strong and doesn't duck anyone. He gave PW his first and only defeat and was getting the best of Miguel Cotto before he started trading shots with him. He is a very sound boxer and he should beat Perez. 154 is a tough division though, we will see how he handles these guys. Another guy in that division that doesn't get the credit he deserves is Daniel Santos which I think could be the best of the division but his droughts between fights are keeping him from making the money he deserves.

CQ is a decent fighter. I hope he gets anotha title shot at 147 or 154. Don't ever see him becomin the man at either weight, but I think he can get anotha belt.

I've always wanted to see Quintana-Berto. I've always thought that Quintana would beat him.

El Indio is a good boxer man. Hope all goes well for him at 154.

I would like to see Quintana-Williams III in the future.

Q is a very good boxer, he just doesnt like pressure like cotto and williams in the 2nd fight, if you let him box you you're ****ed.

Hmmmmm.... Quintana sounds just like Cintron, when talked about the 154 pounds. Both have said they are more comfortable at that weight.

Quintana has very decent skills and I see him winning another belt in the long run. I also would not mind seeing a rubber match with PWill as others have posted. I think he came in over confident in the second match.

If Quintana's stamina and chin holds up then he can box with the best of them.
