Former welterweight champion Carlos Quintana (26-2, 20KOs) is prepared to make a strong point on June 5 when he takes on veteran Danny Perez (34-5, 17KOs) in Chicago. The fight will be televised on ESPN's Friday Night Fights and Quintana's second at junior middleweight. He hopes to get a good enough ranking to land a title shot before the end of the year. A lot of fights came his way in the last few months but none of them came about. [details]

I agree with you. Quintana is very strong and doesn't duck anyone. He gave PW his first and only defeat and was getting the best of Miguel Cotto before he started trading shots with him. He is a very sound boxer and he should beat Perez. 154 is a tough division though, we will see how he handles these guys. Another guy in that division that doesn't get the credit he deserves is Daniel Santos which I think could be the best of the division but his droughts between fights are keeping him from making the money he deserves.Comment

Hmmmmm.... Quintana sounds just like Cintron, when talked about the 154 pounds. Both have said they are more comfortable at that weight.Comment
