His professional career is pretty ****ing solid for a guy who started as a pro very late. He has fought a lot of good fighters and avenged most of his losses. Clearly a better fighter than this RJJ lucky KO punch fluke repuatation that he gets from a lot of people.

Tarver is was very good, is good, but did get fat and old, yes.

But he was always, to a reasonable degree, over rated.

Ok skills, good speed, dodge some shots, and have a good tactical brain and you beat him.

It's pretty tight that you gave me the same nickname that my friends call me around here.

If the Hall was set up the way it should be, he wouldn't get in... with the people that they let in, I would contend that Tarver is at LEAST as good as them, and probably much better.

It is more of a tribute to the lack of selectivity of the Hall, rather than Tarver.

              ^^^ Yes.

Also, just because you posting reminded me of it... Tarver should clearly be 2-0 against Johnson. I have no idea who Johnson got the scorecards in the first fight.

Thats bad thinking saying cuz Mcguigan is in he should be, if thats the case, then there are many out that should be in. Fact is Barry Mcguigain should have never gotten in and why he is in should be under investigation. This should be as hallowed as baseball's HOF but it isnt. Not sure Id have Terry Norris in either.

I remember we've talked about this before... You hated the milk dud and were completely shocked that Johnson got the decision.

Tarver is a really good fighter. A lot of people just don't get it.

Tarver? HOF? he did beat more than a handful of good opposition. His derailment from boxing (substance addiction; ultimately leading to his hiatus). may have thwarted peoples overall opinion of him. He did not possess a "fan-friendly" style, but he did put a few fighters on their backs.............
Like Winky Wright , He will always be remembered for the credit "he felt" he did not receive.
