              Looks like he had a padded record early, but stepped up and beat good comp..still you think with a record like that he would be better know..

                  McFarland was a brilliant boxer of the early 1900's. Unfortunately his best fighting weight was 140 lbs during an era when no such division was yet established.

                  He had trouble making the lightweight limit and was not quite big enough to fight at welterweight although he did challenge the title holders in both divisions but was never given a shot.

                  There is some controversy over whether he ever actually lost the fight that he supposedly did. In case he didn't, his record should be 105 wins and no losses.
