p4p is smaller dudes with the skill to beat bigger dudes. Not bigger dudes with the skill to beat smaller dudes. Thats what I call a misconception of the meaning "p4p".

Yup. p4p is about comparing fighters in different weight divisions, who wouldn't normally meet. As such, a good HW can be a p4p fighter just like anybody else. It happens rarely simply because the smaller guys have more opportunities to prove it as they can move between divisions to varying degrees and take on more p4p candidates. Likewise even an established heavy who started lower would have a better chance; Holyfield would be a good example. And indeed Haye, if he scalps a K or two.

what?!? no its not! how do you enter a discussion about p4p and have an opinion when you dont even know the definition of the word. Pound for Pound. A pound is a unit of weight. That means if you had one pound of Manny Pacquiao and one pound of vitali klitschko, their weight wouldnt be an issue (because you have a pound of both), so which is the better fighter. Pound for pound means the best fighter REGARDLESS of weight. otherwise the list would be completely skewed towards smaller weight divisions, which its not (evidenced by how highly joe calzaghe ranked until his retirement, for example).

To answer the question in this thread, i already rate haye in my top 20 p4p, and wladimir about 11/12, with a decisive win, haye might bump up to around the 7 mark, it would be a huge victory for him

He wouldnt be on my list for beating Wlad, but if he were to beat Vitali as well in the "contract" match then I would have to put him in the top 10.

He does know it. He described

p4p is smaller dudes with the skill to beat bigger dudes. Not bigger dudes with the skill to beat smaller dudes
as being a misconception, before linking to Wiki on the correct explanation.

Personally, I think Haye would slot in around 7-9. And if he beats Vitali, 5-6 depending on other results. What do you think?
Around 5 for me Timba, mabey 6 or 7.

HW shouldnt be discrimenated against in the p4p rankings, Haye has came up from CW where he ruled as well it should be noted And he has all the attributes u look for in a good fighter, speed, power, accuracy, timeing and style, guy is an under rated body puncher too

It all hinges on beating Wlad tho
