i agree that hatton falls into the "gatti" catogory! however.. that isn`t such a bad thing is it?
    i`d rather be a gatti\hatton.. etc fan than a mayweather\calzaghe fan!

gatti & hatton were warriors! pbf,joe c... etc were technically great fighters but were they REAL WARRIORS? (i think not)
Not taking anything away from Gatti: I happen to LIKE him. I'm simply pointing out that unfortunately some fans confuse "entertaining" with "great". Gatti was fun to watch but ultimately he was crushed everytime he stepped up. I'm simply saying that people shouldn't translate their fondness for a fighter into a blindness towards his actual abilities. Don't get me started on Chicken Gayweather.

Unlike the Mayweather fight on this fight hatton:

        1. Was fighting at the weightclass that he is must effective where he was the champ!
        2. Had a better trainer than before
        3. Had a different referee
        4. Wasn't fighting at the opponent home turf
        5. Cant claim he was hit by a lucky puch cuz he went down in different rounds

Hatton simply have run out of excuses.

Hatton only needed to look at David Diaz flat on his face to know Pac hit hard, and not listen to DLH.

i guess it depends on what your definition of "great" is?

i can understand why alot of boxing purists criticies guys like gatti..etc..(the list goes on and on) but from my point of view(ok i can talk some **** from time to time!!!) boxing is about excitement & machismo!!!
            hatton,gatti,froch,pacquiao,haye... etc!!!
if only the "elite fighters" had the same attitude?

Just watched the fight tonight and noticed at end of the first round how Hatton kept lookin at Lee beard for advice and was basically ignorin Floyd by just shaking his head and lookin at Beard.

Ricky only has himself to blame to be honest.

I'll have to disagree, this is a boxing contest, not how good a man you are....cus, is really dificult to try KO your opponent with you're head...less with your heart

No, I agree wholeheartedly. The elite fighters SHOULD fight with that kind of grit and fire.....and really, it wasn't that long ago that they DID. Think Marvin Hagler. Even slick boxers like Ali and Holmes generated offense and got down in the trenches when they needed to. A runner like Gayweather and his idol Hector Camacho was disdained back then.....and probably wouldn't be good enough to wear a belt except in a weak division.

Ricky's fans are great, no doubt. But Manny isnt from the US. Fans of Manny that showed up are most likely Filipinos living in the US.
