When you pick up a fighter two weight class down and says because he wanted to fight "the best", you know its mockery.

That's my point. He was scared because he knew he would get beat. The Vietnamese would have kicked his ass...they were no joke.

i dont think hes doing anything different than sugar ray leonard was doing at this point in his career. the difference is that leonard put on a persona people liked, thus the perception of him was easier to digest. well see if mayweather has a terry norris moment, though i doubt it, floyd takes boxing a bit more serious than that, but still, anything can happen.

Floyd has a large fan base because he puts on a "gangsta" persona. He acts like a rapper so people love him and it doesn't hurt that he is undefeated. Personally, I rather not hear him talk but I absolutely love his boxing style. Im a fan of technical boxing, first and foremost.

I am one of the few members here who aren't biased towards any one boxer. I just tell it like it is.
The fruity pebbles over at la casa del perro boxeo,

had a huge **** attack when I said Floyd brought in a large portion of Hiphops younger fanbase into the sport.

Some even likened it to racism.

I agree, just like how he was "GOING TO DESTROY DE LA HOYA".

You know what the funny thing is?

Tyson didn't talk much when he was at his best with Rooney. It was quite the opposite. Most of his talking was inside the ring. That sold tickets. It wasn't until he went on the slide and especially after prison when he was crap, that he talked a lot of smack in order to sell tickets (to make up for his declined ability inside the ring).

Floyd on the other hand, talks smack to sell tickets because if he doesn't, it's back to small arenas...and that is despite being a great fighter who didn't crash and burn like Tyson with skills/ability.
Which is a shame because from 130-140, he was a hellova entertaining fighter I thought. At 147, not so much.
