1) (and most importantly) it is INTERESTING to me. I am an analytical dude, and the quantitative component of nearly anything in interesting to me.

2) My work has substantial overlap with the sports industry, and the metrics

3) I track the nums so that I can foresee which fights will be/can be made...and so I can call bull**** when guys give other excuses.


4) It is important to the sport. Thus, why the numbers are routinely released and posted on boxing websites.


There are a few more reasons, but this should suffice.
