Lemme explain to you how debate or argument or discussion works.
Me: State something as a fact.
You. Refute the fact by providing a contrary or proven fact.
Because, so far, exactly what i said would happen is what has happened. We are almost two weeks out...NO NUMS FROM HBO.
/ˈɑrgyəmənt/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [ahr-gyuh-muhnt] Show IPA
–noun
1. an oral disagreement; verbal opposition; contention; altercation: a violent argument.
2. a discussion involving differing points of view; debate: They were deeply involved in an argument about inflation.
3. a process of reasoning; series of reasons: I couldn't follow his argument.
4. a statement, reason, or fact for or against a point: This is a strong argument in favor of her theory.
5. an address or composition intended to convince or persuade; persuasive discourse.
6. subject matter; theme: The central argument of his paper was presented clearly.
7. an abstract or summary of the major points in a work of prose or poetry, or of sections of such a work.
8. Mathematics.
a. an independent variable of a function.
b. Also called amplitude. the angle made by a given vector with the reference axis.
c. the angle corresponding to a point representing a given complex number in polar coordinates. Compare principal argument.
9. Computers. a variable in a program, to which a value will be assigned when the program is run: often given in parentheses following a function name and used to calculate the function.
10. Obsolete.
a. evidence or proof.
b. a matter of contention.
You can bend and try to manipulate definitions all you want but in the end you do not own any FACTS-- going back to my original argument. If you can prove that your "insider sources" are accurate then you may be onto something. Until then, you're just another guy posting on a boxing message board.
I am positive that Cotto-Margarito sold at most 450k buys. My boss is a good friend of an HBO exec and he unintentionally mentioned this figure while they were at the driving range.
See how easy that was? Your original post in this thread did not provide any more evidence than that BS I just made up.Comment

Your very words demonstrate your unwillingness to be objective. Even if I "prove" it to you, you will still doubt. per your words. No worries.
BTW, water is wet.Comment

2) My work has substantial overlap with the sports industry, and the metrics
3) I track the nums so that I can foresee which fights will be/can be made...and so I can call bull**** when guys give other excuses.
4) It is important to the sport. Thus, why the numbers are routinely released and posted on boxing websites.
There are a few more reasons, but this should suffice.Comment
