Give Floyd a break already(at least for now)

Everyone should give Floyd Mayweather a break already. I mean the guy is coming back from a layoff and when he enters the ring it will be about a 19 month layoff. Thats a long time! he's not fighting a bum. He's fighting the #2 fighter pound for pound. Yes he's been competing in lower divisions but he wanted the fight and Floyd saw that as a perfect opportunity to shake off any ring rust against a big name fighter who has given Manny fits. He SHOULD fight Pacquiao after if he wins, because no matter what everyone says, that is the fight that evryone is talking about and wants to see. Then if he gets by Pac which he should if he's the same Mayweather as before, he should fight Cotto/Shane winner because I feel those two have unfinished business. I think both would be great fights. I think Shane's just a step too slow and not physical enough and Floyd should outbox him in a competitive fight. Cotto gives him hell and Floyd will have to work for 12 rounds in what would be a GREAT fight! If Floyd fights someone non-deserving instead after Pac then everyone should rightfully critiscize. I don't feel Cotto is deserving at this moment because he's coming off a loss and a win against Jennings and needs a big win before that fight. Shane is the perfect fight for him. The one name I did leave out is Williams because I just don't feel he's a HUGE money fight for any of these guys YET but it may not be too much longer before he can't make 147, if he still can.

I agree, good post. I disagree on Cotto giving Mayweather a better fight than Sugar. Let's not forget, Cotto does not clinch and has said he does not like to clinch which is already tailor made for Mayweather since Mayweather is a potshotter. Mosley on the other hand, clinches when he has to. The reason i mention this is because the fighters who gave Mayweather hell, smothered him in the inside and clinched when they had to. If anything, despite the age, I say Mosley is a tougher style for Floyd than the there-to-hit Cotto.

People need to learn how to seperate skills from personality.

The reason why Floyd his hated so much is because the haters can't get passed Floyd's Flamboyant Lifestyle.

To Floyd, Lifestyle flashy isn't really what he is about. He is a generous family man who understands the business of boxing. Floyd knows the difference between Winky Wright/ Sugar Shane Money to Money May/ DLH money.

The humble non flashy attitude doesn't pay off for black fighters.

Hell is took manny over 50 fights to make the money he makes now and Manny still hasn't made PBF money yet.

With out the Green Blond or Pink hair Dennis Rodman would have Been Ben Wallace.

Without the loud mouth/ goofy hair and flashy persona Paulie Malignaggi with 5ko's would have been fighting at high school gyms.

Floyd is a boxer who TRULY understands the business
So if you have to hate him to make him relevant then so be it.

Floyd is an undefeated fighter who has fought some of the best competition of the last 15 years

              Henandez
              Castillo (at his peak)
              Corrales (at his peak)
              Hatton (at his peak)
              Judah (near his peak)

              and theres more.

Floyd never fought a lockett a gomez or a jenning this late in his career,
He won't be picking out a contender for his comeback fight, instead he is going full steam at the number 2 boxer in the planet right now

Oh he's not fighting welter weights, So what, Floyd was never a big welter at 154 he fought at the welter limit,
Floyd has never came into a fight weighing more than 149-150 pounds, thats less than even Manny Pacquiao can say

but its always a double standard for floyd.

peoples hate blinds them from logic.

I'm a Mayweather fan and defend him in many cases but saying he's never fought a Lockett or Jennings is wrong. Lets not forget Henry Brusseles. All fighters do it.

Floyd going on to beat an elite WW if he got passed JMM & Pac, would silence the critics.
