    Ricky Hatton shouldn't retired.

I'm ****ing sick of the way the Brits are, calling for their fighters to retire after every loss. Ricky lost to the 2 best fighters on the planet, they British boxing public act like he got destroyed by Tocker Pudwill or something. Hatton should come back to England, fight out of Manchester, win a title, start re-unifying the division. He still beats 95% of the 140 division imo.

Either that, or I'd love to see him KO Amir Khan. Say if Ricky takes the Katsidis fight and wins and Khan beats Kotelnik, then why not Hatton vs. Victor Ortiz while Khan makes a voluntary, then have the winner of Hatton vs. Ortiz fighting Khan early next year? Would be great, and 3 fights Hatton could/would win and it would put him back on top.

99% of the British sports media basically implies that Hatton should retire, and they have all these old ****s coming out of the woodwork, boxers from 40 years ago etc telling him he should retire. He's only 30 ffs.

        age is just a number

He's physically old in boxing terms, with the way hes been living. If you're a true Hatton fan and have followed his career you would know hes done at top level. After the achievements and career he's had, it would be an insult to carry on just for the sake of it, fighting B level opponents. Like he kept saying before the fight, he has nothing left to achieve but 'P4P #1 status'.

His days of chasing this dream are over, so what goals does he have anymore. He will only perform worse from now on as he won't have that hunger or desire anymore.

2006 Hatton, the one that beat Tsyzu wouldve walked through those shots he took against Manny in the first round. He's really struggled in his last 4 or 5 fights, it just didnt show in the Malignaggi fight, because Paulie is so light fisted.

I don't know about you, but i don't wanna risk seeing him lose to a B level fighter

Its not the getting knocked out that have many calling for his retirement,
it's HOW he got knocked out.

He'll never be the same again. At least, not against elite level fighters.

Of course, it's only people talking, and Ricky should continue if he believes he has more to accomplish in the sport.

He has many other options to consider. It's not like he needs to box for the money anymore.

If he wants to get near the p4p top again he needs to give welterweight a shot .

He had his chance, twice! he blew it second time around and it's his own fault and not Floyd Sr, the PBF i respected him he followed a gameplan but got lost along the way.

                now its someone elses turn.

i was asking for him to retire, as much as it guts me to say it. i don;t see what carrying on will achieve. if he fights ****ter, khan or any of them, he may get caught and beat. i might be wrong but his chin just looks so suspect to me. and if he got beat of any of them, then as Hatton fans, we;d be even sicker!!!

on the other hand, if he comes back, then it shouldn;t just be for one fight IMO. it'd need to be for a good few. he need to stop piling on the timber in-between fights, keep fit and fook lee beard off.

either way, i'll still support him, but I just don;t see what we'd get out of it.

One last thing, if he did carry on, fought the winner of JMM and PBF and won, then that would be a turn up.Doubt it'd happen though.

agreed. ricky just doesn't have that confidence and ferocity in the ring anymore. i'll have to agree when people on here say mayweather took something away from hatton, but now manny has also taken something. ricky is done as an elite fighter imo.
