"Chico" was one of very few fighters who, for me, transcended the sport. I felt a connection with that dude everytime I watched him fight, his personality literally bled through the television screen.
Many fighters have said that they are willing to die in the ring.
But with "Chico", you actually believed him when he said it. Because he always delivered.
-"Chico" prior to the first Castillo fight.I'm willing to go through hell to beat Jose Luis Castillo. I'm willing to die in there.
R.I.P. Diego. We still miss you, man.

I couldn't have said it better man. He left us all with a whole hell of a lot of respect for him, and countless hours of boxing entertainment to be had throughout his career.
Watching that Clottey fight is very depressing for me, but it also shows you even more of Chico's tremendous heart.
Dude was way too small for Clottey and yet he stayed in there until the bitter end. Tooth and nail.
Tooth and fucking nail.
We love you "Chico".

I'll never forget the classic 1st fight between Corrales and Castillo. The ebb and flow in that fight was unbelievable and the way it ended was very dramatic. Corrales was a true warrior who always tried to get up when he was down. Boxing lost a true warrior the day Corrales passed away.Comment
