I really don't believe that. Ricky is a "fookin" idiot for not learning anything in his entire time with Floyd senior. I'm glad he nearly got his head taken off. Serves him well for thinking he knew what he was doing.
This quote must haunt him now.. Between rounds Floyd said to him "... you shoulda been listening from day one"

Floyd Sr. was trying to turn Hatton into a smart boxer. He can never be one. Floyd Sr. should have known this. Even "joke coach" Roach knew. Now the joke is on Floyd Sr. OWNED!

I hate to say this, but it is actually Floyd Snr. who owes Hatton an apology.
When you are being paid MILLIONS of dollars just to train somebody you should at least arrive on time for some of the training sessions.
Also, I was incredulous when I learnt that Floyd Snr. did not arrive at the arena on Saturday night until 25 minutes before the fight!

After 12 weeks of prep where I'm sure Mayweather ingrained head movement, a good jab and smart pressure, Ricky throws everything out the window to fight Manny senselessly.
Ricky went back to his old ways, so far back, it looked like he was looking for a familiar voice in the corner, perharps Billy Graham's. Watch the end of the 1st round.
I think Mayweather Sr. did his job and Ricky owes him an apology.

I used to like Floyd Snr. but it seems that the man is merely a pompous moron who cares not one bit about his fighters.
That doesn't excuse Ricky's performance though.

Did Floyd Senior do his job? Yes. He was teaching Ricky defense. And how not to be a robotic, overly aggressive idiot. Ricky ignored all of that.
If you teach your kids the right thing, and they go out and do some dumb ****, if the joke on YOU> Of course not,
Ricky is a fully functioning adult. He owns his performance.

Floyd Sr. needs to stay away from training fighters without the basics already ingrained in them.
Hatton needs a chin implant after his chin was ruined by Mayweather Jr.
