Is it too early to consider Manny a modern great?

After all he has beaten the best below light welter, (feathers, lightweights and so on.) He has De La Hoya on his victim list. And destroyed the best in the 140 division. Can we safely say he is an all timer?

It's most certainly not too early to define him as a modern great, oh fearless leader of the Others who has miraculously risen from the dead.

Sorry, just a rare treat to see a fellow LOST junkie on here!!!

But I'm already calling Manny the greatest fighter of his generation, and he's bordering on the point to where they should put him in the HOF the moment he retires, rather than make him wait five years.

As far as ranking Manny as an ATG - I believe he's already there, though it's tough to rank active fighters. The problem with it is that you start to rank them too high, then suddenly they tumble down after one loss.

If he were to retire today, I don't think it's unreasonable to give serious consideration for Top 20 (perhaps even higher). The remarkable thing is that he has a genuine chance to make a run at (in my personal order, from #4 to #1) Louis, Armstrong, Ali and SRR.
