Every time I've seen Ricky fight he's always "almost lost." He always "almost gets knocked down, if not out." But at the same time I honestly thought he would be able to deal with Paq's punching power since Paq was never a one punch KO guy like that. Paq has to break you down somewhat. I knew Ricky was chinny, but that **** was just ridiculous. One square punch on the chin and he's out. He might have still been buzzed since the first round, he looked dumb in his corner after the first round, like he wasn't entirely there.
As for Mayweather ruining Hatton, lol that's bull****. Mayweather didn't even **** on him long enough to ruin him, might have ruined his confidence, but not in any physical aspect. Hatton's just never been able to take a punch and Paq caught him right on the chin. Hatton can still fight in England if he wanted to, maybe try one more time against a Ortiz or Bradley down the line..
I'm just shocked Ricky was even the top guy at 140 for that long, lol that division must have been horrible for a while. But the fighters Paq gets to snag belts off of are insanely perfect for him. lol That **** has to be divine intervention, lol I mean the fighters that were lined up for him couldn't have been more perfect. With the exception of Barrera and Marquez, every fighter he's faced in a big fight have been at the point where they should retire, or they were ass in general. lol That **** never seizes to amaze me..
Your hatred for Pacquiao never ceases to amaze me...
I also picked Ricky, and I give some validity to what he said after the fight. If he had had more rounds the fight might have been different.
For most of that second round he got into a pretty good rhythm. Unfortunately he got caught.
His biggest problem is that he ****s his hands before throwing punches. If he doesnt fix that he wont get past the top guys.
Yes, I was one of the ones that said Hatton would beat Pacquiao. I thought his style would prevent Manny from doing what he loves to do. In fact, if Hatton's chin was better, it probably would've been a tough fight for Manny. But that's beside the fact, Pacquiao is the better fighter. No doubt about it.
My point is that Ricky Hatton is wrongfully treated like he's a bum on here now just because he lost to Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
The fact is Ricky could beat 99% of the fighters out there, but because he came up short against two greats, he's nothing. Take a look at 140 pounds. Do you honestly believe Ricky is not one of the best there? Are you saying people like Victor Ortiz are better than Ricky now, just because of a loss to a great? It's dumb.
Ricky Hatton could probably beat everyone at 140 outside of Pacquiao and Marquez. That says a lot, but it says more about the high expectations that were set on Ricky after the Tszyu fight.
He was given a crown that was bigger than his head, and for that, Ricky is met with disregard and disrespect in the end. If I was a boxer I'd be proud to have a record like Ricky Hatton, and I wouldn't regret my losses either.
Hatton has been a great fighter and a great character in boxing, and he deserves his credit.
Green k.Thats the biggest problem with this site.We all joined this forum as supposedly knowledgeable boxing fans, yet a great deal of people on here behave like its the f.uckin WWE or some bollocks. When I started boxing the first thing i was taught even before setting foot in a ring was RESPECT.
Respect for the coach, the gym,the others using the gym, myself, but most of all other boxers. Not one person in this forum has come even remotely close to what a guy like Hatton has achieved, yet these armchair pundits who forget to speak before they type seem to throw stones from the worlds biggest greenhouse.
Banter is fine, but this bull**** has got way out of hand.
