we are very happy to have this great experience in our time. this is also the reason why we hold our heads up high because of what pacquiao has done for each and every filipino. he gave us something to be proud of, he gave our country recognition, he gave the poor hope and he lays his life on the line just to have a one day of peace for our country every time he fights in the ring. he shows us how to be a filipino. from rags to riches he never changed, he was just more giving as his fame and wealth expands. i can say that he is one of the greatest person i have ever come to meet. second to my dad.

Got it!
Tito was the man and from what I gather, even if there are great fighters coming out of PR, at the moment, Tito is still DA MANG!
I think, this only happens in boxing, when a whole nation rallies around an athlete with the same reverence they show their national heroes and religious figures.
I can't think of any sport that has this affect on a whole country. Not even Michael Jordan, the most famous athlete in the world, had the same following as Tito, Duran, Schmelling, Ali and now Manny. It's incredible, what one boxer can do to millions of people.
Boxing is the greatest sport in the world. And Manny Pacquiao is the greatest fighter today.
Filipinos should be proud, but please no nuthugging.
"No, Pac can't beat Godzilla. But he'll probably knock him down, at least once." Enjoy your man!Comment

you're a true class act mellow....
as a fellow addict to the sweet science, i've been following this sport for a good 20 years and i fully understand where you're coming from...as a child, it began with Marvin then it was Mike, then Pernel and Chavez, then Roy
as my 'heroes' fell off or retired, i found other fighters (Morales, Norris, Mosely) to root for and the addiction grew deeper...if boxing was a drug, i would have overdosed long ago
then Manny came along
i was skeptical, though optimistic, as i've seen many 'flash-in-the-pan' fighters come and go......but what has transpired in the past 6-7 years has been absolutely amazing...Hollywood couldn't script a better boxing story...
it went from jumping up and down in the Ledwaba victory in 02 to ATG discussions in 09
its been one heckuva ride and for this particular pinoy fight fan, its been THE most enjoyable era
