The only thing he planned out was taking time off to let the remaining welterweight class reorganize itself. He didn't want any part of that, with Paul Williams, SSM, Cotto, Margarito still in the mix at that time. But this is exactly what I can't understand: How some people still back him as a fighter after knowing he ducked all of these fights... They say he is a smart fighter for doing this, he is playing the villain role.. Bull ****! He is afraid to face an opponent(s) who can pose a real threat to beat him. He is now backing himself into a corner against a legitimate threat. Time will tell where his legacy will rank after he really retires but I can already see that many people have already jumped off the Mayweather bandwagon as he approaches his date with destiny.
