Manny Pacquiao vs Prime Chavez Now

Just wondering if any feeling have changed after watching Manny KTFO Hatton for the Jr Welterweight Championship. Previously, Chavez won this mythical match-up hands down.

JCC wins hand down, you must be kidding right

Taylor who is not even close to Manny greatness and he schooled JCC until he was robbed. Pacman is a but slower than Taylor but hits a lot harder and would be able to withstand JCC punches. Pernell who was the smaller man was able to clown on JCC on the inside and the outside.

I favour Pacman in this fight by a WIDE UD and I dislike Pacman

I'm just saying, the last time I started this thread topic, the majority of the people on here voted Chavez.

And Whitaker won a World Championship at 154lbs and was P4P when he was the Welterweight Champion, so I wouldn't call him the smaller man.

Great fight, I think Chavez would eventually break him and chop him down, could Pac keep him off him for 12? Considering Chavez beard was one of all time greats?

I'd still go with Chavez, Pacquiao would have to win by decision and I don't think he has the punch resistance of a Taylor.

If Chavez can't get to Manny's body to slow him down, it would be hard to catch him. I wasn't too sure about this fight even before the Pacquiao-Hatton fight, but now I am leaning toward Manny.

I was actually picking Pacquiao before the Hatton fight, stylistically, he's a bad fight for Chavez, a quick handed guy who can move in, move out, turn would give Chavez a lot of problems.

Whenever I consider this fight, I think of the Chavez vs Rosario fight to convince myself that JCC would maul Manny. But after watching him stiffen up Ricky with one shot I can give myself reason to reconsider. I still think Edwin hit harder than Manny does now, but Manny's speed and energy would present problems. So I don't know anymore, I'd have to watch tapes and analyze to make a more informed decision.

If Chavez won it would be by a late stoppage, he'd be giving away a lot of rounds. I don't see even a puncher of Pacquiao's caliber stopping Chavez except by cut.

I agree with the bold. While Manny's KO was impressive, Ricky has shown signs of a weak chin lately. Hell, Floyd was able to drop him with a single left hook and even Lazcano was able to wobble him at times. Manny's KO was damn impressive, but I'm not sure he could hurt a prime Chavez. Now the other attributes of Manny's game combined with his power may be where his advantage would be in a fight with JCC.
