    nah......2nd.

his first fight was when he became a last minute replacement for the ibf champ ledwaba.

after that fight , larry merchant fell in love with pac and started hyping pac up (even putting manny on his top 10 p4p list , which was laughed at and ridiculed by all the other boxing experts at the time)

agapito fight was made to unify pac's 122 ibf belt with agapito's belt (wbo i think) , larry wanted hbo to showcase pac since he was so impressive in the ledwaba fight. that's why it was in frisco because of the large filipino population in the bay area.

next to maybe roach , larry merchant is one of the most important guys in pac's career imo. larry was pac's howard cosell.

        it was smart though.

remember pac just blew out lehlo ledwaba in impressive fashion in front of the world on hbo ppv.

agapito knew what he was up against. agapito was also one of the undercards that night in vegas. he saw pac destroy ledwaba in person.

with manny's speed , power and height advantages......agapito being the tough vet that he is knew he had to try something different. boxing with pac was not gonna work.

sidenote......that undercard was for oscar's championship fight at 154 against castillejo. funny how those 2 ended up being connected in their careers.

pacquiao became known fighting on oscar's undercard and 8 years later oscar fought him to make pacquiao a superstar.

One judge gave all 6 rounds to Sanchez, the other had it 4-2, and the last had it 3-3. Was it just a dirty fight from a dirty, veteran fighter in Sanchez?
Agapito is DED. Give em a rest, in peace.

dude , it was almost 8 years ago. long time.

i remember max kellerman was on espn at the time and i emailed him on those chat things with the fans he use to do on espn , asking if he thought pac had a chance of beating the other 122 champs.

max thought manny wasn't all that special. lol
