  • Chavez Jr. Hopes To Land a Manny Pacquiao Showdown

Junior middleweight prospect Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is hoping that Top Rank's Bob Arum makes good on his promise to make a showdown with Manny Pacquiao. After Chavez's win over Luciano Cuelo in March, Arum mentioned the possibility of matching the young Mexican fighter against Pacquiao at the end of the year. The fight would take place at a catch-weight. Chavez returns to action in July. [details]

Pointless...!!!!! Maybe as a tuneup to keep Pacquiao active until the winners of Cotto-Clottey and Marquez-Mayweather are done. Chavez Jr. would get smoked.

He hasn't earned a shot at Pacquiao. He has no big names on his resume.
