Why don't you just name 20? How old are you?

Obviously you can't name 20. So I'm gonna go with what you have.

          Let's see:

          McLarning
          Tunney
          Greb
          Chavez Sr.
          Holyfield
          Hagler
          Frazier (maybe)

That's...six? Seven? Let's start with McLarning. What makes his resume better than Pea's? What fights impressed you?

I’ll take a shot at 20 fighters better than Sweat Pea (who I love by the way). I would also say that Whitaker was the best defensive fighter in my lifetime. As far as 20 fighters here goes (in no particular order)

              Joe Gans
              Sam Langford
              Benny Leonard
              Harry Greb
              Henry Armstrong
              Willy Pep
              Aaron Pryor
              Floyd Mayweather Jr
              Julio Cesar Chavez
              Alexis Arguello
              SRR
              Roberto Duran
              Stanley Ketchel
              **** Tiger
              Carlos Monzon
              Marvin Hagler
              Roy Jones
              Bernard Hopkins
              Gene Tunney
              Joe Louis

I tried to keep all the names in the lower divisions, and obviously I’m taking the opinions of earler writers by including early fighters such as Joe Gans and Harry Greb.

I wouldn't put them ahead of Pernell but every1 has their opinion...

I've seen clips of the first fight with Ross. How many did you see?

I wrote the list as part of a challange to come up with 20 names that were better than Sweat Pea. I don't know if Pryor was better but I thought he was good enough to be included. If I had more time and looked at a bunch of ATG lists he might not be listed. It’s hard to find 20 people who were better than Whitaker. Whitaker was a great defensive fighter and anytime fight fans talk about one man being able to stand in front of another and not get hit Whitaker deserves to be mentioned.
