Hatton is greater. He fought the best in their prime and ended the legend of Kostya.
Hatton or Calzaghe? Who is greater?

Hatton by a country mile!!! JC clearly assembled his record with a lot of consideration, Hatton fought the best (yes he lost, but he has so far only lost the the two best boxers in the world). I have much more respect for Hatton, I respect JC buthe could have done so much more.Comment

Hatton went in with 2 P4P no1 prime fighters which Joe never did but Hatton lost both, I would say the Hopkins win is better than anything on Hatton's resume, The Kessler win is difficult to tell as Kessler has faced no one since.I'm going for Hatton. At least, he risked it all to find out. He fought two P4P # 1's in their prime.
Calzaghe, although undefeated, took the easier and safer rout to his unblemished record. He's like the Harlem Globetrotters, who are at least 200-1, but who cares, they don't play in the NBA. Even the worst team in the NBA could beat the Globetrotters.
At least Ricky had the bollocks to find out.Comment

Calzaghe is the better fighter with the better resume.
Hatton took more risks in his career though.Comment

I'm really not sure that's true. It took Hatton 40 fights before fighting anyone with a pulse and then fed on a diet of ageing names. Before Mayweather what risk did he really take? The only two times he fought P4P Top 10 fighters (albeit #1 both times) he came up brutally short. There's a massive massive gap between Pacquiao and the third best fighter on Hatton's resume.
Hatton's one of my favourite fighters of this generation but if you're basing this question on ability or quality of opponents beaten then the answer can only be Calzaghe. Hatton will be richer though.Comment
