Of course I do not take credit for actually reading Red Smith's writing as a 26-year-old I can only take credit for reading 'Bert Sugar on Boxing' however....I can state that I agree with the above, Heavyweight or not, Brits just aren't tough..after all, they view Dunkirk as a victory. You name me one good British Heavyweight who could take a punch and give the same and I'll give you a hundred dollars, (or pounds...) .......The best little man Britain ever produced was Nigel Benn, he's more African than British ;-) Calzaghe is Italian. You might see a Ferrari in New York. Doesn't mean it was conceived there.
