Look. I fully understand the vastness of Maywether's skills and the extent of his physical abilities. I acknowledge his victories in his career and the fashion that he accomplished them. He's amazing. No doubt.
But so is Pacquiao.
I don't know why anyone would think that Mayweather would simply mop the floor with Pacquiao. The only times in Floyd's career in which he appeared vulnerable was against southpaws. Case in point; Zab Judah, Demarcus Corley. Both fighters have hurt Floyd with right hooks. Pac has a tremendous one. Zab has hurt Floyd with a straight left. Pac has the best in the business.
Mayweather should win. He has pretty much every advantage going in this fight, save for power. But we know that in boxing, that variable plays a factor in fights of this magnitude. If and when this fight happens, and it's way to big for it not to, all those Mayweather fans thnking he'll walk through Pac might be setting themselves up for a huge disappointment.Last edited by m00ks; 05-04-2009, 06:46 PM.Comment

Mayweather's shoulder roll doesn't work with southpaws. The shoulder roll picks off left jabs with an open glove, rolls rights with the shoulder and catches hooks with the right glove pressed up to the cheek.
A southpaw throws right hooks where the shoulder can't catch the shots and the left hand goes straight down the pipe. Mayweather had trouble stopping Judah's straight lefts and right hooks early, same with Corley.
Still, I agree that these two ESPN guys have little to no comprehension of the sport of boxing. They are just easily amused by the spectacle of the knockout. Still, I think this is a fight that will be Mayweather's toughest fight stylistically, but it will also be the axis by which his legacy tilts.Comment

Tell me who has ever been able to drop Oscar besides a great Middleweight like Hopkins. Oscar should not be a measuring stick of Manny's power.Comment
