Buddy McGirt seems like a loser of a trainer

I’m not fully steeped into my boxing, but Buddy McGirt seems like a loser of a trainer. I mean, he has a great record as a boxer himself, but everytime I ses this guy in a corner of any high profile fight, it always in the corner of losing fighter; always on the losing end of a bout. Seeing him consoling the loser after a fight is now, like a classic scene for me. I often look forward the statements he makes. For example, in Gatti’s corner ““You eyes are closed baby, we stopping it, we stopping the fight”, and in Brewster’s corner “ You taking too many shots to the head. If you don’t hit back, we’re stopping the fight”

    Mayweather (w) – Gatti (l)
    Hatton (w) – Malinaggi (l)
    Wlad Klischko (w) – Brewster (l)
    Hopkins (w) – Tarver (l)
    Baldomir (w) – Gatti (l)

If you know any “ major” bouts in which, a fighter won while McGirt was in his corner. Plz list, so I can be know if I made a hasty decision on this guy. Tarver-Jones can’t really count..due to the initial Jones win.

maybe because unlike other ***** trainers like Emmanuel Steward who will only train someone that is already a world class finished boxer, Mcgirt elects to take on journeyman and tries to build them from the bottom up.

Just look at Freddy Roach, recently his fighters have more losses than wins. He was recently trainer of Arlovski in his destruction at the hands of Fedor and in the corner of Gerry Penelosa in his destruction at the hands of Juanma.

Even Roger Mayweather was just in the corner of a fighter that got owned last month but most people don't notice these things they only notice their big profile fights and think Roger is undefeated because he's in Floyd Jr's corner and Roach is undefeated because he's in Pacquiao's corner.

He cares for his fighters and knows when they don't have a chance even if his fighters don't.

He is miles ahead of Mayweather Sr as a trainer........LOL, "FREDDIE THE JOKE COACH ROACH" ..........good one Sr.

He's a childish moron. He threw in the towel when Paulie was fighting hatton, not because Paulie was in danger of getting really hurt, but because Paulie was losing and buddy wanted to humiliate Paulie for making him seem like a bad trainer. He's a selfish dope.

I don't think he wanted to humiliate Paulie. Paulie wasn't throwing back, and was taking some pretty big shots. If your not going to fight, don't step into the ring.
