In all fairness, Floyd Mayweather could meet his 1st loss against Pacquiao. Floyd has great skills and great defense, but Pacquiao isn't your ordinary stationary fighter. Floyd's last 2 bouts were against the 2 biggest "names" in the sport, but were no where near the level of Pacquiao's, I think that in itself is safe to say.

But if you're basing Floyd beating Pacquiao with ease because you are a fan of his, your judgment may be a bit clouded. Regardless of anyone else's opinion, Manny Pacquiao made Floyd Mayweather's last 2 opponents look like tomato cans. Though some would say that is a stretch, that is indeed the talk right now in the Boxing world. The fuel has been laid out for Pacquiao vs Mayweather.

Hatton landed about 4 significant punches in that fight, they all were punches to the back of the head.
He started doing it, as soon as he knew he is ****ed. ****ing cheater.

Technically there are several reasons to suggest Floyd Mayweather Jr, provided he is still prime and beats Marquez, actually has a serious chance of hurting Manny Pacquiao should they fight.

              1) People are getting carried away with the manner of the way Hatton was destroyed, I picked him to get knocked out, but like many, went for the later rounds. However whilst pacquiao's timing was outstanding, hatton was actually the cause of his own downfall because he didn't listen to the gameplan. A plan which I will go into next point. Simply rushing in head first with no head movement was always going to result in a knockout win Pacquaio because thats all they had prepared for in the months up to the fight. Trust me, if hatton had done something different, roach was still ******** on hatton getting hit, losing the gameplan and reverting back to type.

              2) To beat Manny Pacquaio you need two things. Correct footwork and timing. Mayweather Sr apparently told hatton to move to his left and jab before the fight. The very same thing I was saying the moment the fight was made, now Mayweather Sr (if this is true) has shown that he can see pacquaio's key weakness, but hatton didnt have the mentality and skills to apply it. Example, hatton is not a counterpuncher, so mayweather sr would have wanted to him to move to his left and smother, rather than drawn him in and counterpunch. But it proves one thing, he's obviously studied manny and can see the way, I dont believe Roger mayweather has missed this either. If you had to pick one fighter on earth to able to execute that fightplan, you'd most likely pick mayweather.

              3) In my opinion Manny pacquiao isnt the same fighter when your circle to your left and away from his left hand. Now the fact hatton came onto him head first allowed manny to open up with the hook, but what if someone doesnt rush him? What if they create distance and move to the left. Well Marquez did this and Pacquiao ended up lunging in and getting countered. If floyd mayweather moves to his left and gives himself distance, what is manny pacquiao going to do? because when it come to lateral movement I dont believe he can match mayweather.

              4) This was a fantastic point made on a youtube video, which I can send to you, great points, I wont post it here incase the noobs get a hold of it. This is what the guy basically said "What is the one key punch against a southpaw?

              The right hand".

"Now Oscar de la hoya is a southpaw coverted to orthodox I believe, so his right hand is not his power hand". Very good point. Ricky Hatton doesnt have the speed and skills to land a powerful lead right hand on pacquaio from distance.

But who has one of the best lead rights of the last decade, Mayweather Jr. One more thing, Mayweather's right hand is about TIMING, which means stepping to the left to line it up waiting for the guy to open up and then he throws it. Timing beats speed, mayweather's timing is unreal.

              5) If Mayweather can avoid the left hand lead. Unless mayweather is up close and coming onto pacquiao, would you think pacquaio will be able to land a lead right hook, clean on the chin, then put his head down incase a punch is thrown back, without getting hit back by floyd mayweather? Im not so sure. If he can't, what does pacquiao do next?

Not saying Pacquaio has no chance, not saying that at all, its just about having some perspective.
This is a brilliant post, those tactics are **** on the money, if people watch the fight again you'll see that although Manny was very impressive offensively he still ate at least 3 or 4 solid right hooks cleanly, Floyd is also gonna study the Marquez fights against Pac religously and will likely call on Judah (another lefty southpaw of course) to spar with him in order to perfect the plan, another thing is Pac still lunges in with his straight left and that more often than not leaves him off balance, someone with Floyd's ability can take advantage of that, and on top of Floyd having the better defence and counter punching skills he'll also have the reach, height and stength advantage too, a lot of folks jumped on the Manny bandwagon on Saturday night but when the fight is finally signed between Floyd and Pac i think reality will start to set in.

P.S. if you can pm me that video you spoke about then please do.

You really are a ****ing joke. Pacquiao's legs were fine. Stop making **** up.

Here's your hero "getting clipped". If he can get hit like this, Pacquiao will beat the **** out of Mayweather. If this was Pacquiao, Floyd Mouthweather would be KO'd.

First of all, Mayweather Fought Oscar at junior middleweight, he didn't make oscar squeeze down to a weight he had no buisness being at, so the arguement of paq dominating oscar is true but should be thrown out. Second honestly we all know mayweather is a surgeon, he's not going to put himself out there like paq will and trade that why it took him ten rounds to finish off hatton because it was obvious he could of did it sooner. Hatton has also been shot since mayweather finished him, he dam near lost to juan lazcano in my opinion. Still my hat goes off to paq but i feel everything that's happening now is building a mirage to the boxing world. when mayweather handles paq easy breaking him down with precision floyd is going to be made to seen as the best ever in boxing, when he should be fighting the paul williams esq of the boxing world. Falling right into his plan!!

But I believe the mirage is with those who don't believe Pac poses a big threat to Floyd based on his style. The illusion really is that Floyd can fight and beat Pacquiao in the same manner that he did Oscar and Hatton. In the same sense that Pac won't KO Floyd in 2 rounds, he also won't be a pwn to Floyd's game simply because Floyd's never fought someone like Pacquiao and who is in his prime.

Based on your assumption, Pacquiao will lose similar to how Oscar and Hatton lost. But Pacquiao is aggressive when he sees the openings. Floyd is a great defender, but he can be hit and I think he'll be hit a lot more times in this fight win or lose than he's ever had.
