Paquiao will go down as an ATG....

I invited friends over for the fight like I always do. We had some beers and food ready and of course talked about the gym sparring sessions and past fights in boxing.

There was arguments as to how good Pacman was and how he would handle the pressure Hatton was bringing. Discussions on what effect Mayweather Sr. would have on Hatton's head movement and his ability to change his style this late in his career.

I think most of us agreed that the fight would go into the late rounds. I mean, Paquiao can't knock out Hatton in one punch.....right? No way, Hatton has been in there with heavy handed guys and stood right in front of them no problem. Roach will be out coached by Mayeather Sr. as well...right?

Well the truth is, PAquiao is a MONSTER, in this there is no doubt. If anyone can beat Mayeather Jr. it's Paquiao for sure. His quickness is unmatched and he does have power at that weight class to knock people out with one punch.

I also think Roach is very underestimated as a trainer, I have to include myself in that as well. I know he has the best fighter but they were working on the short left hook inside the looping left hook of Hatton. That was the key punch. Yes they were also working on the "right" hand as the secret weapon and that that worked out for them in the first round but it was the left, as it always is that ended the fight.

IMO I think Paquiao will go down as one of the greatest fighters of all time, I'm not getting caught up in the hype of the fight either. He actually reminds me of Salvador Sanchez. Not so much in his style but in his raw dedication of the fight game. It seems once he is training for a fight, he is 100% mentally, physically and spiritually into the fight. He lives in the gym and Roach has to pry him away from it at times.

If Paquiao stays this way, which there's no reason to think he won't. He will go down as one of the ATG beating some very impressive opponents, all as the smalller man. Mayweather better watch out because Pacman is coming and this is the fight the whole world wants to see. Or maybe we see JMM vs Pac III? Whatever the future for Pacman, it's going to be great for the sport of boxing.

Cong**** to all the Filipinos, you have a great fighter for sure.
