yes he said this from his own mouth multiple times just do a search on google for it or watch the beginning of the mayweather/hatton fight right before the fight begins Jim Lampley and Merchant talk about it and discuss how Mayweather says he will be leaving for 24 months.Did PBF actually said this? from his own mouth ? was it caught in an interview ?

I don't believe worrying about one man's financial crisis has any merrit inside the ring, and that's what most people are debating on a potential fight with Floyd and any top fighter. Many ignorant 'fans' and Floyd haters seem to be spewing the same crap over and over recently that Floyd came back from 'retirement' due to:
1. he's financially in trouble, the IRS is hounding him
2. the top competition has left WW so he's back to pick on some little guys
3. he's jealous of Pacman's limelight.
ALL of these are unequivocally WRONG as can be easily proven with evidence.
FACT: Floyd Mayweather even PRIOR to his fight with Hatton 2 years ago said that he will be leaving boxing for exactly 24 months. In fact, he never truly even retired, he simply took a break of two years during which he wanted to concentrate on other ventures.
If you watch the Mayweather/Hatton telecast (downloadable here in the video trading block section of this site - so haters ya'll have no excuses in not being informed), Jim Lampley himself states BEFORE the fight even begins that Floyd had already said he will be leaving boxing for 24 months because "He doesn't love the sport" to which Lampley or Merchant reply that "You can't imagine Hatton saying the same thing."
This is 100% irrevocable, unequivocal, undeniable, irrepressible, indubitable, incontrovertible PROOF that Mayweather had PLANNED to come back 24 months from his last fight. The Hatton fight was in December of 2007, his return date of July 18, 2009 is exactly 19 months or 4 and a half months shy of his stated goal of a 24 month hiatus.
Now haters please shut the hell up and get informed.
I'm not saying that Mayweather didn't go on this hiatus because he didn't want to deal with bigger-sized welterweights, this is a possibility. But what I AM saying is that his comeback NOW is in no way shape or form some sort of arbitrary decision based on fear, money, jealousy etc, it was his STATED GOAL two years ago and he is simply carrying his goal out right now as we speak.
Any person who is worrying or defending another man's finances that he himself doesn't know makes them look more like an obsessive stalker than an actual fan.Comment

So why didn't he call Pac out after Manny's fight with DLH? He was coming back anyway, why wait another 2 months to fight. Is July, his lucky month or maybe he thinks JMM, at 37, is a safer fight than Pac at 30 and at his peak. He waited an extra 2 months to fight, when he could have fought Pac in May. Why?Many ignorant 'fans' and Floyd haters seem to be spewing the same crap over and over recently that Floyd came back from 'retirement' due to:
1. he's financially in trouble, the IRS is hounding him
