    I think floyd was speaking in hyperbole. he didn't really mean that hatton wasn't listening to him during camp, just that floyd already taught hatton how to use his jab and head movement.

      It was mostly years of Billy Graham, who was a horrible trainer. That's why Matt Macklin (a very good middleweight) dumped him as a trainer. Had Hatton had Mayweather as a trainer three years ago, we would see a more different Hatton.
