body has gotten use to his new fighting weight, he is finally able to bring his devasting power with him. I'm even gonna say pac's power is better now that it has ever been, and every fighter who now faces him is in a ****load of trouble.

As for my title, manny's power is clearly better than cotto's and it's not even close. What I'm trying to figure out (even though I like cotto) is the myth of cotto being a power puncher, because I just don't see it. Margarito dispelled any idea of it by him constantly taking power shot after power shot, and against Judah and mosley it wasn't there either.

I really hope we see cotto vs pac in nov. cuz it will be a war but one in which manny TKO's him within 10 rds. Pac has the clear speed and power edge, both are the same size, and while cotto's knack for standing toe to toe and making it a war will be entertaing, he will just set himself up for manny's devasting power.

I'd have to see it to believe it. Pac would have a speed advatage for sure.

But Cotto will be much more competitive and the fight will go longer. Cotto's body attack is very good, so it would be interesting to see how Pac reacts.

I personally believe Roach would have Manny move a lot more than he ever has against a body puncher like Cotto.

The one thing that was apparent was that Hatton was strong enough to move Manny back to the ropes very early.

I could see Cotto doing that and getting on the inside with his excellent left jab.

I would say Cotto has more 1 punch power, Pac still has good power but I think the fact hes so fast and hes opponents don't see hes punches coming helps with hes power and makes it a lot more effective.

Cotto would have knocked out Hatton too. Dont forget that the last two times Pac faced fighters with good chins he had to batter them with countless punches before they fell, or in Oscar's case retired.

So I dont know how you can judge. I think Cotto is overrated as a big puncher too overall, but Pac wouldnt be able to budge Marg or Mosley either.

That's the key. Thy just don't see the punches coming. Hatton walked into a perfect punch right on the chin. It had all of Many's body weight behind it.

Knocking people out or down isn't directly indicative of power.

You see what he did to Malignaggi, Judah, Mosley, and Margarito's faces?

Look, he doesn't score spectacular knockouts like the one Pac had against Hatton.

But his opponents feel his power enough that it takes them out of the fight. With Judah, Judah just got worn down. He kept absorbing punishment and he stopped fighting back.

Same with Mosley. Rounds 4-8 Mosley was COMPLETELY thrown off his gameplan. A lot of it was definitely him being surprised with Cotto's versatility, but Cotto has enough power to get respect out of a guy that's difficult to hurt like Mosley. Mosley can take a better punch than Pac, you can bet your ass.

Cotto might not knock Pac out cold or anything, but when he feels that left jab, and feels that left hook and right cross, his approach will change, I guarantee you that.
