Pacquiao Beating Cotto? Lets Be Serious People...

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. I'm a Pacquiao fan.

I'm estatic over his win as well.

But you guys are getting carried away.

Cotto is just an accurate a puncher as Pacquiao and hits harder.

He wouldn't be foolish enough to try to jump all over Pacquiao like Ricky did.

I understand you're riding high especially after all the **** some Hatton fans have talked and how much people have tried to discredit Pacquiao saying he was going to get slaughtered but I don't think Pacquiao can hang with the likes of Miguel Cotto.

Maybe we'll see one day, maybe we won't.

    But lets be realistic.

Don't just claim out right that Pacquiao is too much for Cotto.

Cotto and Hatton are two very different types of fighters.

Pacquiao looked uncomfortable in the clinches. Despite having the power and the speed he looked like a small guy in there with Hatton. Could cotto assert his physicality?

People talk about how floyd would destroy cotto, yet floyds never even fought any good 147 pounders.

It may just be the post-fight adrenaline pumping from Pac's win but I don't see how Cotto could keep up with the flurry of punches Manny can throw at the speed Manny throws it. Cotto's defense is way better than Hatton's but his speed isn't on Pac's level and his chin has been cracked before. Also Cotto get's tired, so Pac has a good chance of stopping him in the later rounds. As for Cotto, he has everything Hatton had and more. Size, Power (not 1 punch KO power) , good speed and boxing ability. However if Cotto can't over come his weak chin Manny will tag him fast and hard at a catch weight of let's say 143, maybe 147 if roach thinks he can pull it off and put him on the canvas. That hook that took out Hatton tonight would've KO'd Marquez, Cotto, Mayweather and perhaps even Mosley.

Pacquiao mite look good early on but it might get ugly when the pace slows and Cotto starts touchin that body. Cotto has way better D than most of Pac's victims as well. And he's much bigger physically.

I wouldn't put Manny in with Cotto. Very good big man beats a legenday little man.

After he beats MAyweather, I would, this guy is amazing, he really is P4p the best. Cotto hits hard, thats about it, his jab is alright, His footwork ain't all that, his chin ain't all that, his pace is slow, Manny is too naturally talented and quite honestly , he would've gotten K.O'd by Judah in the 1st round had he not gone str8 for the low blow. Manny is going down the best in this era after he beats Mayweather. IMO.

im starting to think manny vs cotto would be close and competitive

cotto would have to move forward, go to the body, cut off the ring and really assert himself, **** manny around but be smart, use the jab and keep a tight defence

manny is a great mover and his flurries and sudden blasting powershots from a southpaw stance would make this fight really interesting

you also have to remember manny is a southpaw and cotto is a converted lefty who doesnt have that great a right hand, against a fast southpaw like manny you need to time him with lots of well placed rights...cotto's right may not be of sufficent quality to do that

people need to watch the fight again because to me it looked like most of pacquiao's punches didn't even land hatton was able to get away from alot of the punches, either many hits realy really hard or ricky's chin is really really suspect

1st of all, Cotto is too big for pac and this fight aint gonna happen...

That said, roach is a great trainer who will pick cotto's style apart and with that gameplan, if pac can hit cotto with the same power that hatton felt today, I don't care who cotto is, he's getting ktfo.

But for reals, pac is too small for cotto
