    There’s Only One Manny Pacquiao

By Jake Donovan - The British can chant all they want that there’s only one Ricky Hatton.

Floyd Mayweather Jr can claim all he wants that he never lost his pound-for-pound distinction in the ring.

Floyd Mayweather Sr can claim the answers to all of boxing’s greatest riddles reside in his mind.

Juan Manuel Marquez and Golden Boy Promotions can claim all they want that the Mexican owns two wins over Filipino’s greatest icon.

But thanks to his devastating second round knockout of Ricky Hatton on Saturday night, what can no longer be claimed with any validity is that there is a single fighter in the world today that is better than Manny Pacquiao.

Based on talent and achievement, it’s not even close.

The two-time Fighter of the Year staked his claim for a third award (and second straight) thanks to the most brutally one-sided performance in a super fight since… well, since his eight-round destruction of Oscar de la Hoya five months ago.

But that win was about two things: fattening the Filipino’s bank account and furthering his status as an international superstar.

Saturday night’s performance was about making history, and Pacquiao did so in emphatic fashion, becoming the first fighter in boxing history to claim lineal world titles in four separate weight classes thanks to his unseating the longtime lineal junior welterweight king. [details]

Holy **** that was a badass performance and punch. At first it seemed like Manny was a little uncomfortable with the pressure from Hatton, but within seconds he adjusted and once he started landing his shots I knew it was over. Plus as usual Ricky was running right into punches and I felt like he was going to get stopped but not KTFO. Great peformance by Manny as usual.

I kind of saw this coming yesterday after watching the last episode of 24/7, they showed Hatton sparring a little bit and I said to some friends of mine that Hatton would have no chance if he fought the way he sparred, which is what he ended up doing. Even so though, I never expected Pacquiao to hurt him in the first round and annihilate him the way he did. Great performance. No doubt that Pacquiao is pound for pound number 1.

Every win elevates Marquez right along with him. His controversial win against him proves it should be settled in a trilogy. The fact that Marquez now has to jump though a disadvantaged situation that may make this fight not happen will always leave that doubt about who truly was the P4P king between the two.

Pacquiao will beat Floyd by decision if Marquez doesn't pull the upset off against Floyd.

Mayweathers - this one was for both of you

Dear Floyd Sr and Floyd Jr - the Pac man sent both of you messages. First, let me say that, once again, Freddie Roach was dead right with his prediction and once again, Floyd Sr is left with his big foot in his even bigger mouth. Floyd, why dont you do the gracious thing and give Roach his props? You spent the whole training camp thinking up ****** poems with your terrible English, instead of training Hatton. Floyd Jr., be a man and fight the Pac Man. He will knock your ass out too. JV in the place to be.

This was evidence that Pac was going to KO Hatton, his hands were low, and his chin has been rocked by Loscano and Malinagi, come on the two feather punching fighters. After Mayweather soften him up, Hatton was not the same fighter, I just hope that Mayweather vs Pac gets made. He was asked after the fight, but he never said Yes I will fight Mayweather. He hid behind with what ever my promoters bullcrap....... Roach, STFU, you just have one fighter that brings you glory, to your so called Great trainer..... Pac fight a fast and slick fighter like yourself to see where you really stand. He has a great promoter and your and exciting fighter, but come on who have you really beat, and pac fans don't give me this BS that he fought Morales and Barrera please....... Just my thoughts.... like always bring it on Pac fans.
