I was just looking at the rankings for the abc organizations and all 4 of them have Owen Beck on their lists and the WBC and WBA have him at #4 (keep in mind these are from Nov. 9th and so the rankings may shift a bit soon). So I'm just wondering who this guy is, why I've never heard of him, and is he any good? Anyone seen him fight before? All I know is that he is undefeated but does he really deserve to be ranked #4 by these two orgs?
Who is Owen Beck?

He does not deserve a #4 ranking. He's beaten no one, and he has gone down twice in his last 4 fights.Originally posted by baserocksI was just looking at the rankings for the abc organizations and all 4 of them have Owen Beck on their lists and the WBC and WBA have him at #4 (keep in mind these are from Nov. 9th and so the rankings may shift a bit soon). No, he doesn't deserve such a high ranking. He's just a bright prospect. If he beats Monte Barrett, that would be prove something, but I just heard today that that fight, which had originally been postponed till January, might be cancelled. He's fairly anonymous though, and despite the fact that he's had twenty four fights, he's pretty damn inexperienced. He oughta aim for Calvin Brock, and if he wins that one, he should go after Monte. Joe Mesi would be another good one, though he'll probably never fight again. Or mebbe DaVarryl Williamson. I guess what I'm getting at is that he's never fought a second tier guy, and that's who he should be aiming for.Comment
