If Pacquiao is able to jump in and throw a combination and then jump out again without being hit, he's most likely going to win. This is his style that has been so succesful up to now, it's a frustrating style for the opponent and Hatton is known for losing his temper at times. Im surprised if Hatton wins, although I think he can rock Pacquiao at times, but it's all about how Pacquiao can take Hatton's punches.
pacquiao undersized for this fight?

I say it matters but others seem not to care as much.
Fight-Time weight vs. Division weight. Two different things since fighters can make weight for the scales then blow-up...but few really care.
There is one thing: If someone gains to much weight and doesn't rehydrate properly, it can actually affect him in a bad way.
If Hatton shows up sluggish, Pac will dance circles around him and beat his ass.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 05-02-2009, 06:26 PM.Comment

They DID change the rules for safety reasons.
I don't agree with what was essentially a cave-in to fighters' bad decisions,
but there's less risk of a ring death now, no? There's only one weigh-in.Comment

There were a few threads on this...not really sure about the end results. Many factors in ring death though, especially fighters back in the day who may have fought many times and gone in unhealthy...like being knocked out in a prior bout or battered around. Lots of factors.
I have thread for a break-down of how it could possibily be, but...
Long discussion.
But I've mentioned before, it's still dangerous the way it is today which is why I brought up Gatti-Gamache
And I posted up an article about what happened to Gamache after...Comment

I think we won't know the answer to this until Pac is in the ring with Ricky. Oscar looked huge in comparison at first and we know how that turned out. That being said I do think Ricky will feel a lot bigger to Manny than Oscar did.Comment

I agree a big part of this is how well Pac takes Hatton's punches, especially the body shots. If Ricky has improved half as much as his camp claims, I think he'll be slick enough to hit Manny on that button a few times and it may do the trick. If Pacquiao is able to jump in and throw a combination and then jump out again without being hit, he's most likely going to win.
