What do you think of the timing of the announcement of PBF vs JMM fight?

The fact that it's announced on the day of the Pac vs Hatton fight?

Initially, I thought it was a bit of a **** move, as it takes away attention from such a mega-event as tonight's fight (I think half this forum has now forgotten there's gonna be a fight tonight). Not just on Floyd's part, but JMM's part too, seeing as they've both probably got agendas against Pac.

Actually, I still the timing is somewhat crass, but...I'm beginning to think it adds a fascinating sub-plot to tonight's fight. The winner of both fights are obviously going to fight.

Not to mention that it sort of....maintains the momentum of keeping boxing in the mainstream, if people are now gonna be aware that the winner tonigh wil fight the winner of PBF vs JMM (Floyd)

All the press was in Vegas so it's a smart move.

Smart to do it today to still the limelight. Had he done it a week or two earlier, it would have helped Hatton/Pac PPV totals which in turn would have given either of them more negotiating leverage when they fight Floyd. Floyd's team is very smart and calculating.

Lampley and all the announcers will be talking about it all night..

Its great because HBO can put it up for upcoming events during the fight.

            Very Smart move.

Yah. And we all should have probably seen it coming all along.

The fighters should do **** like this. It's the feuding fanboys on here threading endless flame threads about it that are the true ****s, pawns in the game, bless 'em.

Kind of like A-Rod announcing he's opting out during the World Series.

Pacquiao-Hatton didn't deserve to get so much attention anyway. Just two mediocre club fighters.
