Would Mike Tyson been the best?

Would Mike Tyson have stayed the best if Cus had not passed away? Would Tyson have not got in trouble outside the ring had Cus been around? I believe Tyson would have not been in so much trouble outside the ring that he respected Cus and behaved like a man when Cus was alive.

I believe so, because all the bad things that happened in his career happened when Cus passed away, he was out of control, but he always had Cus to control him, once he was gone, no one could control him, it was obvious in his fights after Cus he began to stop focusing on head movement and defense and just focus on offense, if Cus was alive today, I think Tyson would have still been heavyweight champ before retiring.

Most agree if Cus lived a bit longer and his original team didn't break up, Tyson woulda reigned a lot longer.

im the biggest tyson fan that has ever lived(well at least i think so) and i would agree that tyson would have done alot better. He wouldnt have lost to buster douglas, and he would have given holyfield a run for his money and probably wouldve won. I do feel though that when the time for him to face Lennox came he would have folded...not b/c tyson wasnt good but because lennox was too big. thats alot to ask of a man that stands 5ft10 in against a guy that stands 6ft6 and out weighs you by a good 30 pounds

Whether Cus died or not is irrelevant.

A long as he had a good trainer (Rooney) and lived a good lifestyle, like he did with Cus and Rooney, he was successful. The moment he replaced his Close friend/Trainer with Baby-Sitters, Awful management, got into a horrendous and backward lifestyle, and to top it all off, Don King. Things went downhill, as would have probably been the same with anyone

Tyson is a ******ed goon who would've self-destructed no matter if Cus had lived to be 200 years old. He was only "great" so long as most of his opponents were half afraid of him and he never faced serious adversity in life, in or out of the ring. His mental stability and impulse control was always questionable, as evidenced by the circumstances surrounding his **** conviction.

Of course, like someone above mentioned....Don King was simply gasoline tossed into a fire. One of these days a broke, disgruntled fighter is going to put a bullet in that *******'s head.

Not sure he would have been the best, no guarantee in that even though Cus thought so, but he would have stood a better chance to have succeeded than what happened.

He still had a chance without Cus since Rooney was his trainer and he continued to get better even without Cus there (except for maybe the mental growing stage of dealing with things and becoming more responsible in becoming a Man)...but it seems once he unified the titles, which includes his win against Spinks...he trashed his career.

Bottom Line: Cus and Rooney together training Mike would have given him his greatest shot to being the best...or at least the best he could be.

prime mike tyson was the best hw ive ever seen.. u can't name a fighter is history that a 20 yr old tyson didnt have at least a 60/40 chance ok beating.
