Keep in mind JMM was 140 in his fight with Diaz, 144 isn't much more, weight isn't going to be an issue for JMM. I think this is a very bad matchup for Mayweather because PBF likes it when fighters come to him. JMM is an extremely smart fighter, an excellent counterpuncher, he's got great accuracy and beautiful combos, and he can be very active if needed (although that won't be needed, PBF is pretty much the opposite of an active fighter).

PBF is a fast potshotter, extremely good defense, and an excellent counterpuncher. His biggest weakness is his lack of activity and I think JMM is going to take full advantage of that, he is going to force PBF to be more active.

This is such a bad matchup for PBF, I feel bad for him, this shouldn't be his first fight back. A fight with Cotto would have been a much better matchup for him. I wanted to see PBF vs Pacquiao later this year but I think JMM will beat him.

A agree with a lot of your analysis, but still think the issue is Marquez's chin. JMM is going to be forced to stalk mayweather, as you said, and carefully pick his shots and throw some of his combos inside. I think Mayweather will catch him and put him down a few times. We'll see if he can get up. Marquez showed a lot of weakness early against Diaz and will probably lose a majority of rounds. Hopefully we see Floyd come out more aggresive than previous fights being put in this situation with a lighter man with a suspect chin in Marquez. I really like Marquez, but the weight is gonna bother him.

Floyd fights cautiously against people who are bigger than him. He is aggresive against guys more his size.

not bad sportsmanship at all.....exact opposite.

if anything, it ADDS to the allure of this fight....kinda "ups the stakes."

the winner has a another mega-fight to look forward to.....officially now.
