I do think Froch is geniunely heavy-handed. He knocked Brian Magee out in round 12, and now Taylor. To carry power that late into a contest is impressive.
Froch can crack, but he does not have one punch power.

I think he does at a certain level. He took Magee out with a single uppercut.

good power for sure. heavy hands. but i see him as more accumulation rather than 1 punch power. i punch power is rare.

He's a grinder. He wears you down and then knocks you out.

I think so at the top level. Him and Pavlik are similar I think, they can turn a fight around with one-punch, but they won't end the thing with one-punch.

Like Melly, I can't really think of many one-punch guys. David Haye and Wlad and a few other heavyweights.

              valero? maybe

but i think froch does have one punch power - maybe not in the same bracket as haye, vlad and valero but he can KO someone if he lands clean. but thats the thing hes so slow and telegraphed that he won't land clean too many times.

his chin and come forward pressure maybe one of the reasons why people say that he is grinder, he does have the attributes for that style as well.

That line states it best. If used correctly Froch could do better with his power. He doesn't use it in the same way as Pavlik. He wants to use his power for a knockout with one punch (most specifically the uppercut), but he should try to wear down his opponent more effectively, with accumilation. He has the stamina for it.

Decent power that commands respect but not frightening power like a nigel benn. Froch carries his heavy hands later in the fight and has good stamina, which is why he counted on his own stamina and talked bad of JTs.
Froch banked on his own fitness to be his strenghth over JT and he was right.
