I hate to throw water on a good matchup, but Kirkland has some serious legal issues right now. Even if he gets past them, this fight is far from being made. Don't take box-rec's schedule too seriously.

This fight was a real fight so you cant just put it on boxrec. Both guys had agreed to it even before Kirkland's May 2nd fight. All Kirkland had to do was win and they already had a signed deal for this matchup. Now though, Kirkland will probably be doing a million years

Kirkland has ****ed himself over, he had 2 fights lined up, 1 of them being a title shot against Segiy. But now it seems like all he's getting is a trip straight to jail.

Kirkland's people were also negotiating with Daniel Santos before he was arrested. They were looking to get the best possible deal for him for a title fight.

No way the fight's going to happen. The charges levelled at Kirkland are serious, it's likely he'll spend a decade in jail
