Hatton is underrated if anything. The reason he is underrated is because of how he fights not what he has achieved. If Hatton won his fights and had the skills of Judah he would be touted as top 5 P4P easy.

every top fighter has been called overrated...from jack johnson to ali, to SRL to Tommy Hearns, to Duran to Pryor, to chavez sr to mayweather. Doesnt matter what you do people will always pick your resume apart.

true, it depends what criteria you go by, as some things i.e. resume or fighters abilities get over blown .. it all depends on what side of the fence you take.

yeah agreed, I think that's a big reason why Hatton gets so much crap in the first place. the last 6 rounds of the fight vs Urango were damn near unwatchable, clinching almost every 3-5 seconds.

and as for the long in the tooth opponents, Kostya was 35, Phillips damn near 40 I believe, and as for JLC, I don't care what HBO tried to say about his performance vs Ngoudjo "said some BS about how he was looking past his opponent" but he was past it, and only fighting at 140 cuz he couldn't make 135 anymore. and in Castillo's next fight, he didn't even make the 10 limit, and right now fights at Welter.

as for Collazo well he's lost to the best fighters he's faced (Mosley, Berto, and Hatton) certainly made it competitive but came up just a bit short.

and well Malignaggi is just too feather fisted/defensively weak to seriously challenge Ricky ... great match making there as it's a fight Ricky should win 10 outta 10 times. the only edge Paulie has over Hatton is speed, and even that is close.

but of course I can't be TOO hard on Hatton as you could pick apart just about any elite fighters resume.
